We climbed into the cab. The dim light of the moon washed over Callie's face, as she explained the plans for the night.
"Ok so we're going to club Karma. It's the best spot within hours. Hottest tracks and guys of course," she threw in a sly wink for good measure and continued looking me dead straight "but honestly act mature enough, we don't need you breaking our party mode, Ok? It'll be fun, I promise," With that she passed both me and Ashley a piece of gum and an admission ticket.
I chewed on the minty rubber while checking instagram. I sighed finding nothing good, but the usual pictures of Jed sucking face with some new girl. I quickly unfollowed him to ease my mind. I listened to drunken laughter approaching as we neared the club. The taxi driver opened our doors and we stepped out being greeted by flashing lights and pulsating speakers. We sauntered in the doorway Beyoncé style. I could feel a smile creeping up my face as I saw heads turn, Ashley and Callie felt it too. A certain vibe made it's way into my vains, pumping hot adrenalin into my blood.
Within five minutes I had a bubbly drink flowing through my system. It was bitter, but I was used to the taste after many painful nights alone, I had found some compensation in the liquor cabinet. I danced moving my hips wildly around the dance floor. The music was a mix of club music and newer pop. Icona Pop "I Love it" was the only song I really liked.
As the bridge of the song flowed on, I spotted a muscular guy wearing vans and some pure Vida braclets, and smiled a little knowing he was just my type. He started my way, his messy blond hair swept lazily over his clear tan skin. In the meantime I wondered, was this cheating? Were me and Kellin an "item"?. I didn't know. His facebook was still single but then again I knew he didn't need anymore publicity that wasn't music related. I pondered every nook of my mind, trying to come up with a straight answer. Too late, Kay!
Five seconds later I was standing next to Max, Mr. Vans as I previous thought of him. Up close his eyes were light crystal blue and his dimples were simply irresistible. He was alone, that's a good sign right? He started dancing with me, his large hands wrapped around my waist, swaying me side to side. I laughed along as I got acquainted with Max. My joints lose I just let go, and with that I flicked off my heels, letting Max tower over me even more than before.
Two rounds of shots later I was sitting at the bar aside from Max.
"It's so nice here, Max. You're so lucky you live here,"
"It's so hot! I'm dying of heat right now!" he whined playfully.
"Well then, let's get you some air!"
I grabbed his hand and let him out into the slightly less warm air outside the club. I collapsed on a patch of grass near the entrance of the club. I stood reluctantly because I knew if I sat I would flash just about everyone walking by.
"Need some help, darling," Max said as he wrapped a sweater around my waist covering from my hips down to me knees. I looked at him thankfully. I leaned in to kiss him... Until my eyes were just about burned out of their sockets by flashing lights and a loud sound. Sirens.
The cops were here.
