I got bailed out by Kellin. I was thankful he didn't leave me locked up, but at the same time I felt so icky. I hate relying on other people. I hate feeling like I need to crutch on other people for things I should do myself. So when I fail, it's my fault, it's a cycle. It's life. He dropped me back at the hotel. Luckily, we got dinner before he dropped me off so, Callie and Ashley were already passed out cold in their beds with drool dripping slightly out of Callie's lipstick smeared mouth. I sighed and collapsed on my bed sinking into it's fluffy mattress top. I thought about dinner...
Kellin sipped nervously at his lemon water and but his words told a different story; how could you do this to yourself, Kay? You're smart and worthy. You need to stand up for yourself, speak up, and be responsible. I nodded unsure and didn't even try to justify that blur of a night. I know he wanted me to tell him the police were wrong and I didn't even go out that night. Well I couldn't say anything like that...
I layed in bed until I had played through my sleeping playlist. Wow, I guess I really was restless because that only happened in Seattle, until now. I drifted to the sound of whizzing cars, and drowned out thoughts buzzing in my ears, until I heard a real buzz. I looked at Callie or Ashley seeing as they always get texts round the clock. I again heard the buzz, only it was coming from my iphone which was resting on the nightstand. I picked it up seeing a new text from some unknown number. It was probably a text from mom confirming the safe arrival of two kids only she wanted. Instead it was from an unknown number with a California area code. Curious, I typed back with a simple who is this? Soon enough the same number was calling me. I waited a few rings and decided to pick it up reluctantly. I walked onto the balcony with the call carefully so I didn't mess with my roomies beauty sleep because they defiantly needed some of that. The anonymous caller greeted me with a hi, and I knew who it was.
"Stop. Haven't you done enough?!" I yelled at him
It was Max. It was the same cool relaxed tone, I just knew it was him.
"Listen, give me a chance to explain."
"How did you even get my number?"
"Callie gave it to me...." He trailed off
"What are you saying? How do you know Callie?"
"Well I met her at this bar two weeks ago. I asked her if I could crash at her place, since I was wasted. Callie told me no, she said uh," Max inhaled shallowly and I braced myself " That she had this annoying room mate, and how much she would love to get you out of the room because she said your a loser and would rat her out if she brought guys back to the hotel. She said she hated your little emo guts and wanted you gone. I told her I would get rid of you, so I told her to bring you out yesterday and she told me what you'd be wearing. I found you and was planning of just scaring you out of rooming with Callie and Ashley, but then I saw that you're really amazing. I didn't want to hurt or get you in trouble, Callie had put the weed there not me I swear, my only job was to get you caught, which I did. I called the police department and said I witnessed a girl in a purple dress taking a hit off a mysterious substance who was heading down East Bellingham. I'm sorry. I was drunk, I called the department before I met you, truly."
"How could you! You know how much trouble I got in because of you? How can even pretend to be sorry?"
"Truly I'm sorry I swear, let me make it up to you."
"You've already made up enough, like how your sorry,"
I hung up and let it all go, tears raced down my cheeks. I climbed back inside bed and curled up in a ball.
