After signing a few autographs and taking a few pictures, we headed inside. (There is no way to make that sound casual for a no name like me!)
Well anyway we headed in two metal doors, a huge blast of fog washed over us, sending me into a couching fit. As I steadied myself I noticed how cool it was in here. The set looked fantastic. The stage glowed with neon paint, and huge card board cutout monsters loomed hauntingly over the stage.
"Dude, some sick set huh?" Parker echoed into the empty venue
"Uh yes! This is crazy," exclaimed Skylar still taking in the high ceiling which was draped in a midnight black cloth.
Arianna however acknowledged the scenery and went back to franticly brushing through her hair and slicking on lip butter.
"Ari, you look fine," I tried to soothe her patting her head complete with her perfect red curls.
"Not fine enough for mystery set guy," snickered Sky.
She looked like she had just seen a ghost. Ari then began sipping furiously out of her remaining water.
I rubbed her shoulder," It's ok, here why don't you point him out to me when we walk backstage ok?"
She nodded.
We walked backstage. Me and Ari that is. She hummed some girly little song the entire way, as her flats clicked along the marble. She sped her pace and rounded the corner to backstage. I heard saying hello to mystery man. Something made me stop though before I could catch up with her.
I knew that voice. I thought back to the cab ride.
Super sweet, he wears football jerseys. Likes music....Set design
The words reverberated in my head. I know "mystery man."
I walked back the way I came. I could hear Ari's shoes coming closer, she was coming to introduce me. I began violently shaking and gasping for air.
"I want you to meet someone," called Ari from down the hall.
I wanted to speak but my mouth wouldn't move I felt like I was drowning in a sea full of darkness. Arianna saw my face and she rushed over without a second thought. I saw a man standing with her, but I could only see the silhouette of his broad shoulders and the dimension of his chiseled face. I fell backwards with a thud. The only thing I remember after that was Ari ordering the man to call 9-1-1.
