I've had so much fun writing this book. I'm so grateful for having such dedicated readers. I hope this ending lives up to your expectations. I will be starting a new book soon, I'd love if you'd check the new one out as well. xoxo
Kay POV:
Dew covered grass licked at my feet while I trudged back up to Parker's place. Last night was one I'll never forget. I went star gazing with Parker. It's weird how even little things like stars can change your whole mood. I felt good this morning, almost reborn. As I continued up the path, my phone buzzed with a call from him.
"Where are you?!" I giggled seeing as when I woke up this morning I was all alone.
"I'm a bit of an earlier riser, you could say," said Parker still in his scratchy morning voice. unf.
"Oh is that so? Well I'll be home in 5 no need to worry."
"Who said I was worried," laughed Parker as he hung up.
By the time I had eaten breakfast & showered, Kellin, Skylar, Ari, and Josh we're already making themselves at home. I had totally forgot we were all hanging out today, shit. I stepped out of the bathroom to be greeted with gaping jaws from all the guys.
"Don't say anything." I commanded, seeing them gaze at my towel clad body excitedly.
I changed into some sweats and was ready to sleep until my embarrassment wore off. However, I remembered Kellin's text last night, I knew how he told me he liked Maddi. I knew how much my heart shattered. I needed to show Kellin he can't just rebound on one of my best friends. He texted me and asked if I was ok with him liking her, I said the only thing I could at this point; yes. She's only 18, and I'm only 16, it's two years difference. 735 days. 17,640 hours. Even though I knew Maddi had more of her ambitions figured out then I ever would, but, I wondered where Kellin and I went wrong.
I moped out and took my seat next to Ari. Ari was droning on about makeup, Skylar was wiggling her nose piercing, and Parker was staring at me. I caught his eye and he waved me over.
"Did you have fun last night?" He whispered in my ear.
"You tell me," I hinted kissing Parker on the cheek.
"Come on, Kay, not while Kellin's here," Parker blushed.
"Oh sorry, I'm so un-classy," I said nodding to where Kellin was sucking Maddi's face off.
"I have to go."
My lips throbbed just looking at them. My heart sank into my stomach, and silent tears rolled onto my cheeks. I went to the only place I felt safe, outside. I picked up my camera, and looked through my picture. My tears only came faster when I came across out pictures of Kellin & I. I picked up my camera and took picture of the first things I saw. Some wilting flowers, the cloudy sky, and a few shots of me looking off into the distance. It helped a little, the way the camera clicked rhythmically every time I angled it to capture my sadness. I had control this way. I had the power in my sadness I had always craved, except there is no blade involved this time.
I needed him.
I ran back inside. I saw Kellin, cuddling with Maddi.
"I didn't mean it," I sobbed.
"I want you,"
"I need you,"
"You're mine,"
"Kay, why are you doing this right now?" Kellin gasped.
"Because I don't care who knows I FUCKING LOVE YOU. I love you, I love you. I've given up everything for you, my life in Seattle, my friends, my family."
