I HAD TO RE-UPLOAD BECAUSE WATTPAD RE-ARRANGED MY CHAPTERS...UGH
Again you guys might not remember Kian if you're new here, look back to "Low."
I stumbled through the crowd my hair whipping at my trembling face. Even with all the families buzzing happily around the pier, I still felt alone and trapped.
"Hi" slurred a familiar voice. I kept walking, even faster than before to escape that voice.
"Come on over we won't bite," it continued.
"Hi..." I said turning around to see Callie, Ashley, Max, and a few other people staring back at me like they had just spotted an alien.
"We are S0 turnt!!! Right guysssssss?" Ashely whooped.
"You should probably get her home..." I whispered to Max.
"It's our last day, man, relax," he laughed.
Last. Day. How could I forget!? Our class trip ended August 15 which was tomorrow. I did a mental face palm. I ran off more frantic than ever.
I took off towards the bathroom, I felt sick. I stumbled into a stall and leaned against the grimy door and let out an exhausted sigh. I reached into the toilet paper dispenser to look for something to wipe my nose, it was empty. I looked under the stall and saw one pair of feet.
"Excuse me, do you think you could pass me some toilet paper please?" I sniffled
A hand reached under and handed me a roll of toilet paper.
"Thanks,"
"Your welcome," a meek voice answered.
I collected myself and went to wash my hands. Standing at the sink next to me, it was the girl from the stall next to me. She looked scared. Her eye makeup was streaked under her cheeks and her lips were stained purple. It was the missing girl; Kian's sister.
"I miss him too." I confessed.
I caught a small glimmer in her lifeless eye at the mention of her brother.
I took her hand, "Why are you here?"
"Because" she started "I needed to find you."
"I need to know why he did killed himself."
I took a deep breath as I looked into her hopeless eyes. Those eyes looked so familiar. I had seen them in looking back at myself in the mirror the first time I put a blade to my skin. I saw them in Kian almost every day leading up to his suicide. This wasn't happening again. I hugged her, and told her it would be alright. I tucked her tangled hair behind her ear, and that's when a something caught my eye. It was a huge yellow bruise at her hairline. I gasped. Her father wasn't only abusing Kian. A lump caught in my throat and I felt little pricks spark in my eyes. I was crying. When I looked up, so was she. I wrapped my arms around her and let her sob into my shoulder.
"He loved you, even though he was angry at you."
I cried harder. Kian was so special. His whole life ahead of him, it was stolen by his father.
"My names Maddi. I'm sure you've forgotten after all this time,"
"I know, I'm sorry. It's late, we need to get you to my house. You like Kellin Quinn right?"
"Love him." Maddi said wiping a stray tear.
"Answer one question and we'll leave," I said.
"Anything for you,"
"Alright well you said you came to California to see me. When you saw me at the merch tent why didn't you talk to me then?"
"You were happy. I haven't smiled since Kian died. You looked so happy, and I felt guilty re-surfacing something tragic like Kian's death. I'm so so sorry Kay bear."
Kay bear. The only thing Kian would call me.
More tears gushed out.
