i'm think about not making this story all lowercased and all. what do y'all think?
chapter four - june 10, 2015
alaska was still standing at the spot jack left her, feeling out of place. he had gone for awhile now, and she was starting to wonder if he got bored of her already. all she wanted to do was leave.
jack started walking back towards alaska after he had made the deal with sammy.
he started to have this weird feeling at the pit of his stomach, a feeling that he couldn't quite place a finger on. he felt this weird set of emotions, and looking at alaska and her innocent face just made his heart plummet all the way to the ground.
he reached her, and gave her the drink. "here you go."
she reached out to grab the cup, and her hand coincidentally brushed against jack's. she felt an immense emotion flow through her, and couldn't help but smile.
what is up with me? she asked herself, because she honestly never felt this overwhelmed with her feelings before.
jack caught her little, cute smile, and he seemed to pinpoint his gut feeling. he realized that he felt guilty. he felt bad for making a bet that concerned her.
he had told himself that he wanted to repair her, but he might just be on his way to destroy her even more.
he shook his head of the thought. he was determined to win the bet and prove to his friends that they were wrong. plus, he would even get a brand new car as a bonus.
he didn't see anything wrong with that. alaska was just some beautiful girl he bumped into.
that fact that you called her beautiful just proves how different she is, his mind told him.
he ignored the thought again. he just had to get her to fall in love with him, and he knew that it wouldn't take long.
unfortunately, even if alaska didn't know just yet, he was right.
he decided to start with the bet right now. he caught a strand of her loose hair that had fallen, covering a quarter of her face. he gently tucked it behind her ear, letting his first gets linger there.
he locked his eyes with her, and he could hear her sharp intake of breath.
alaska was getting all these weird feelings. the skin of her ear - right where his fingers now lie - was burning with tingles. the skin there felt blazing hot, but she didn't know why she liked it. she liked his touch on her skin, and she couldn't figure out why.
jack mentally smirked, noticing the reaction he was getting from her.
"you'll be fine," he reassured her, actually meaning the words he were saying.
"i want to go home," she mumbled.
he raised his other hand up, so that he could hold alaska's face in between his hands. "just let loose and have fun," he said softly. "i'll be here."
she stared into his eyes, and he held her gaze with such an intense one, she found herself nodding. his lips twitched up into a small smile.
his hands fell from her face, but he immediately grabbed her hand in his. he led her back into the living room, where people where were beginning to fill up the humongous space.
he lead right to the middle of the dance floor, and stopped right there.
he smiled at her, and she realized what he wanted to do with her. she rapidly shook her head back and forth. "i can't dance," she told him, and she didn't want to either. she didn't need another reason for people to look weirdly at her for.
