*Forever December*
*Chapter 19: Parker's Mistake*
*Parker's P.O.V.*
Rage ran through my vains as I left Dee's house. I didn't want to, but I thought it was the best for December. I had wanted to kill Roxin before, but now? I was going to kill him.
I had agreed to take one of the twins. I decided I'd take Rowan this time. After strapping him in, we drove off.
I'd almost forgotten about the drugs in the glove compartment. I had hundreds of dollars worth in there. If I could sell it soon, it'd be good for the twins.
In the back, Rowan was gazing around. Unlike Rian, he was quiet and curious. I didn't know where I would be without him. Without her. In the beginning, I was very hesitant about being a Father. Now, I enjoy it.
Before I went home, I knew I had to get these drugs sold. While they were in car, they were a danger to my son. I didn't want him to get hurt, so I decided this was best for him.
"Don't worry, Ro-Ro, we'll be home soon."
Rowan only cooed at the sound of his nickname. It made me smile as I pulled over by my usual block...or so I thought it was.
*December's P.O.V.*
I stared at the wall, listening to the beeping sounds around me. I was fine now. Maybe heart broken from what...he did to me, but physically, I was all right.
My mom was beside me, her arms wrapped around me. It was the only was I felt safe. Rian was at home with April, while Rowan was with his Father. Inside, I was worried about them. But, I was more worried about myself.
It must have been coming, I guess. I knew eventually Roxin would become jealous. All this time I thought he was my soul, when he was only here to hurt me.
"What happened!?" A voice yelled. I looked up to find a blonde boy, whim I hadn't seen in ages. Evyn looked from my Mother to me. "Chris...."
"Fancy of you to have shown up here, Evyn. You should call. Someone might think that you don't care," my Mom said quietly.
Evyn frowned. "Chris, I'm-"
"Leave. Just go, Evyn. I don't want you here," I whispered, closing my eyes. I didn't want to watch him leave. I couldn't. I had no guys in my life anymore, and I wanted to keep it that way. That way, no one could hurt me.
I heard the door blose and instantly fell back asleep.
*Evyn's P.O.V.*
I slowly walked out of December's room and back into the hallway. I guess that I deserved it all the way it was given. I had only seen the twins twice since they were born, and it had been nearly four months.
"Evyn?" I smiled at the sound of her voice. Fiona stood quietly in the waiting room. She looked concerned. Her golden-brown locks hung over her small shoulders. "Are you okay?"
"Don't worry, Fi, I'm fine," I said, pulling her into my arms. Even though she was six years older than me, she was still shorter.
"I always worry," Fiona muttered, kissing me. I couldn't help but smile. Through everything, she made me feel better by just looking at me.
I took her hand and kissed the ring on her finger.
"Soon, you'll be Misses Dwight, my love."
*Parker's P.O.V.*
I kissed Rowan on the forhead gently. "It'll be right back, little monkey." He cooed quietly as I shut and locked the door. I would die if anything happened to my little munchkin.
I stuffed the drugs into my picket and raded the block quietly. They knew who I was, because no one but drug users and dealers were out this late. I kept taking glances at the truck to make sure Rowan was all right.
A girl walked down the block. She was obviously messed up. Her brown hair was matted with different contents. Dirt was spotted on the bare parts of her body, which was nearly everywhere. She approached me with begging eyes.
"Do you have any stuff?" She asked.
I knew I shouldn't give it to her, but I had to. I withdrew the 'stuff' and nodded to her. As I reached outt o take her money, I heard cars all around me.
One care - a black one - stopped in front of me. A man twice my size jumped out of the car. "This is MY terf! What the hell are you doing," the man yelled. I gazed down at the lump on his side. It was a gun.
"Sorry man, it was a mistake," I said, hoping that he would let me go. Ig lanced at the sign on the coerner of the street. Sure enough, it wasn't my street.
"Mary, come here, you know you're only supposed to get it from me!" The big man yelled at the girl. She quickly spun around and ran to him. A moment later, he turned to me. "Is that your truck? It's very nice. Mind if I borrow it?"
The man ran towards my truck. The only thing I could think about was Rowan, sititng in there. I kicked the back of his knee and watched him fall. Then, I ran around him and hopped into the truck.
My heart pounded as I started the car. Rowan was fast asleep in the back seat. I began to drive. It was only a few minutes later when I realized that the same black car was behind me. "Fuck, " I hissed, flooring the gas petal. Gunshots sounded, hitting the truck everywhere. I had never gotten a gun. I couldn't fight back.
"Go away, you bastards!" I yelled out the window. Another shot rang and the truck went out of control, turning different ways. I couldn't stop it as it spun off of the road. I heard glass shattering. When I looked back at Rowan, I knew that the glass had come straight at him...I knew...I had hurt my own son.
