*Forever December*
*Chapter 4*
~Roxin's P.O.V.~
I looked back a moment, giving Dee a small wave good-bye. When I looked back towards the door, Columbia was in the doorway, her eyes bright with excitement. She opened the door. I blushed, holding the flowers out to her. "These are for you," I whispered, coughing into my other hand. My throat felt dry.
Columbia's hazel eyes lit up, "oh, Roxin, they're beautiful." I blushed deeper as she slipped her hand into mine and pulled me into her house. The house wasn't too big. Maybe half the size of mine. There was an upstairs, downstairs, and a basement. We settled ourselves in the basement. It contained every person's dreams. Video games! Stop it! You're on a date, dimwit!
I shivered as Columbia's silky skin touched mine. We settled ourselves. I took a seat on the large bean-bag as Columbia placed the black roses I'd bought her into a velvet vase. "I love these," she paused, "my car's in the shop, so we'll take my mom's."
I grinned, "you look night tonight." Columbia blushed, and twirled a piece of her silvery hair. She took a seat beside me, her cheeks rosy with embarrassment.
"I really like you, Roxin...." She trailed off. Her lips were coated with a pink lip-gloss. She smelled like watermelon. I leaned towards the girl, watching her tongue run across her lips. Our lips were centimeters away when my phone went off. I cursed loudly, pulling my phone out.
"Dee, what do you want? Huh? Slow down!" Columbia's eyes grasped to the floor. I felt bad for answering the phone, but Dee wouldn't just call for nothing, when she knew I was on a date.
"I'll be right there," I closed the phone and looked at Columbia. "I'm sorry, I have to-"
"Just go. That girl means more to you than I do!" In truth, she really did.
~December's P.O.V.~
I slowly closed my phone, pulling up in front of Columbia's house. I needed Roxin, and I knew he'd leave his date for me.
He pulled the door open and looked at me. "You all right, little vamp?" I shook my head and slammed on the gas. "Whoa! Whoa! Let's not drive like April, please."
I sighed deeply. The traffic was hard, but it usually was in Chicago. I honked repeatedly before people started moving once more. All I could think about was Parker and Brandie. I was stupid to even accept the date.
"Wanna sleep over tonight?" I threw the biggest smile I could at Roxin. I didn't want to be alone right now.
"Sure," he smiled.
**
I snuggled up to Roxin, yawning. We'd gotten the Scarlet Letter movie. The better, non-old one with Demi Moore. It wasn't as accurate, but it was must better and newer. It was getting later, and the movie was longer than I'd expected. This was normal for Roxin and I. We didn't do anything but cuddle, of course. He was my best friend, nothing more.
Roxin's fingers ran through my hair. I let my eyes flutter closed as he did so. He lay my head on his chest, and listened to the soft voice of Hester, the main character in the book and the movie. She was beautiful, since Demi Moore played her. But, if you watched the other one, goodness, you'd see different.
Soon, I slid into a deep sleep, and began to dream.
*Dee's Dream*
We were soaring across the sea. The sky was a deep blue, and the wind was blowing around like a militia. It made me smile. I loved the wind very much. I took a deep breath and spread my arms out. I was standing at the edge of the boat. My dress was long and white, a shall stringing to my arms. It was truly beautiful.
The sky was darkening by the moment. Dawn was nearer than you could think. I placed my foot on the side of the tip of the boat and pushed off, grasping the bar with my hand. I pushed off with my other hand, smiling as I let go and stood up straight.
I felt as if I were on the Titanic. The sea seemed to dance and skit away. Dolphines appeared from out of nowhere. They signaled happily as the boat sailed on. I could smell the salt in the ocean.
Then, the scene changed completely. I was in a dark, large house. I twas more of a castle. There were people scattered around me, staring as if I were a ghost. I looked down at myself for a moment. The only thing I saw was my stomach at large. As I thought it, I felt a kick.
*End of Dream*
I screamed as I woke. My hand flew to my stomach and stared at it. Somehow, I'd been put into bed. Roxin was beside me, his arm slung around my body. His eyes flew open as he heard by screech. "Dee?"
