Malhotra House – Morning Frenzy

The day began with the kind of chaos that only weddings—or in this case, an engagement—can bring.

Shivika’s room looked like a fashion disaster site. Safety pins, bangles, fabric tape, and a half-opened lehenga bag lay scattered across the bed.

“WHERE IS THE ZIPPER?!” she shrieked, holding up her blouse, which betrayed her trust by refusing to zip.

Kritika walked in casually, baby on her hip. “Maybe it sensed the pressure and collapsed.”

“Mummaaaa!” Shivika whined.

Her mom peeked in, panic mode activated. “Arrey! Stitch it with your emergency kit! You always keep that one, na?”

Shivika blinked. “I gave that to you last month when you were fixing dad’s trousers.”

“…Oh. Right.”

Her mom hurriedly got her kit and started adjusting her lehnga zipper

" I told u that u should try it before the engagement but u didn't"

" Maa atleast aaj to mat daanto "

Their chaos begin and they finally got ready

Singhania House – Meanwhile

Siddharth was staring at the mirror, adjusting his sherwani collar for the fifth time. His hair was gelled back just right, but he still didn’t feel ‘ready.’

His dad strolled in. “Nervous?”

Siddharth grinned. “A bit. She’s officially going to be mine today.”

His mom entered, fixing a brooch on his chest. “She was always yours, beta. Today just comes with laddoos and camera flashes.”

He chuckled. “She’s going to look beautiful, isn’t she?”

His mom smiled knowingly. “Woh toh tumhari aankhon mein roz lagti hai.”

Venue – Chaos Meets Glamour

The banquet hall shimmered with soft gold drapes, floral centrepieces, and fairy lights strung like stars. But the decorators were still busy adjusting the stage backdrop. One of them knocked over a vase.

Kritika, now in her elegant silk saree, took command. “Fix that corner. Flowers there. And for God’s sake, someone find the ring tray!”

Bhua ji spotted her. “Waah, lagta hai wedding planner banne ka plan hai!”

Just then, Aman entered dramatically through the side door, dressed in a navy-blue Indo-western suit, grinning ear to ear.

Behind him was a petite girl in pastel blue—Riya. Calm, graceful, with the kind of warmth that made people feel instantly comfortable.

“Guess who’s fashionably late?” Aman beamed.

Karan shook his head. “You’re lucky you’re not fashionably dead.”

Shivika’s Room – A Breathless Pause

She finally slipped into the blush-gold lehenga Siddharth’s mom had chosen for her. The delicate embroidery glistened in the light as she adjusted the dupatta.

Her mom stood at the door, teary-eyed.

“You look like a dream.”

Shivika turned, lips trembling slightly. “Mumma, is this really happening?”

Her mom cupped her face. “Yes. And no matter whose house you go to, you’ll always be mine first.”

Kritika walked in, misty-eyed. “Now don’t cry and ruin your mascara. Trust me, it’s waterproof only in theory.”

They shared a quiet, emotional group hug.

Stage Moment – Siddharth’s POV

When Shivika stepped onto the stage, everything blurred for Siddharth.

She was radiant—hair styled in soft waves, maang tikka sitting gracefully on her forehead, eyes shimmering not just with makeup but with memories, dreams, and a whole lot of “what ifs.”

He whispered to Aman, “How did I get this lucky?”

Aman smirked, “Maybe she lost a bet.”

As Shivika stood beside him, their hands brushed.

Siddharth: “You okay?”

Shivika: “I’m terrified and overdressed.”

Siddharth smiled. “You’re perfect.”

The Official Vibes

The couple sat side-by-side, hands together, while elders performed the rituals.

Bhua ji tossed flower petals like she was throwing confetti.

Photographers clicked like it was their final mission.

Shivika whispered, “You are looking handsome

Siddharth: “and you are looking mine "

She giggled.

The rings were exchanged amid applause, flashbulbs, and teary parents.

As Siddharth slid the ring on her finger, a soft silence fell. Flashbacks flickered—

Him passing her a pen in college.

Her laughing at his bad puns.

That first time she said “I love you” in the middle of a fight.

Shivika held his hand, firm now.

This was real.

This was forever.

Terrace – Just Them

Away from the noise, they found peace on the terrace.

Shivika leaned against the railing, removing her heavy earrings. “I thought I'd feel different. But I feel... calm.”

Siddharth: “Maybe because you’re standing next to your peace.”

She smiled, eyes shining. “And maybe because the stress has already been shouted out by Bhua ji.”

He laughed. “You were beautiful today.”

“You were alright.”

“Oi!”

She pulled him close.

“Promise me,” she whispered, “even after marriage, you’ll love me in chaos and calm.”

He held her tighter. “Always. And I’ll make you tea when your mascara smudges.”

“Even better.”

They looked up at the stars—tiny witnesses to a love story that had only just begun.
