“You said we’re going to Jaipur!” she hissed.
Siddharth smirked, sliding sunglasses onto his face.
“Jaipur was the decoy. Maldives is the mission.”
“You’re insane.”
“You married me. That makes you an accessory.”
Later that evening, in an overwater villa—
Shivika sat on the deck, feet in the water, wind in her hair.
He walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist.
“Remember the first time I said I love you?”
“Yeah. After stealing my pani puri.”
“Exactly. And now I’ve stolen your surname.”
She laughed softly, and in the middle of stars and sea breeze, he whispered:
“Let’s make this a life we’d both never want to run away from.”

Siddharth rushed for meetings. Shivika juggled her brand and chai breaks with Kritika.
She walked into the kitchen one day to see him making aam ka achar with Bhua ji.
“Since when do you know how to dry mangoes?”
“Since my wife said she missed her mom’s pickle.”
“That’s blackmail through condiments.”

“Because I already love them and they’re the size of a lemon seed!”

He massaged her feet every night and put sticky notes on the fridge:
“Water. For the watermelon-sized baby.”
“Don’t forget folic acid. Or to smile.”
Kritika teased her constantly.
“Enjoy the glow now. Later it’s spit-up and sleeplessness.”
“I’ve survived your wedding planning, I’ll survive this too.”
