Hello everyone this is chapter 16 do like and comment
The sunlight filtered through the half-drawn curtains of Siddharth’s room, but there was no warmth in the morning. He sat on the edge of his bed, elbows on his knees, eyes fixated on the floor.
He kept replaying that moment from that day in his mind—the way Kriti and Shivika had sat together in the library, close but fragile, like glass balancing on the edge of a table.
He hadn’t heard the words. But he need to
His mind saying what if shivika told her something to which she is ignoring him because from that day she is ignoring him
But he shrugged the thought as how could he blame shivi when she is not like that
But a scene from there childhood played in his mind where whenever any girl tries to come close to him she just flights with them or told them anything which make them stay away from him to which there was no other female friends of her another than shivi and her two three friends
His mind was just fighting with the thoughts

The Malhotra bungalow was lit like Diwali had come early. Strings of marigold flowers hung from the balconies, fairy lights twinkled along the walls, and the aroma of ghee, roses, and sandalwood filled the air.
Kriti stood in front of the mirror in her room, draped in a soft pink lehenga with silver embroidery. Her cousin sister pinned jasmine flowers into her braid, whispering blessings.
“You look beautiful, kriti ”
Kriti forced a smile.
There was a knock.
“Rohan is here,” her cousin announced.
Her heart dropped—not because she feared him.
But because she wished it was someone else.
---
Downstairs
Rohan stood near the entrance, dressed in a cream sherwani, holding a bouquet of white roses. His eyes searched the space with a soft nervousness, a man trying to keep pace with a world moving too fast.
He didn’t belong to this chaos—but neither did she.
When Kriti descended the stairs, everyone turned to look. Gasps, applause, compliments.
But Rohan?
He didn’t smile out of duty.
He smiled because he saw her.
Not the clothes. Not the jewelry.
Her.
---
As the Ceremony Began…
The priest recited mantras. The families exchanged trays of sweets and gifts. The ring boxes were opened.
Rohan’s mother nudged him.
He looked at Kriti.
She looked… lost.
“Kriti?” he asked gently.
She blinked. Looked at him.
“You okay?” he whispered.
She nodded.
He took her hand, slid the ring onto her finger.
The room erupted into cheers.
