Hey everyone this is chapter 36 show some love ❤️

The chaos outside hadn’t seeped into the room yet. Shivika was sitting cross-legged on the floor, helping Kritika untangle a stack of matching bangles for the mehndi favors. The soft playlist in the background was playing Laung Da Lashkara, and a calm sister moment had finally found its place in the madness.

“Do you know how many glass bangles these are?” Shivika muttered, picking up yet another tangled loop. “I’m going to dream in chudi sounds.”

Before Kritika could answer, her phone buzzed.

Karan Calling

She picked up with a sigh, on speaker.

> Karan (without hello): “Meri  maa ka lehenga boutique pe reh gaya hai. Aaj ke din! Aur ab sabki jaan mein jaan tabhi aayegi jab woh ghar aayega.”

> Kritika: “Oh god. So? Go get it.”

> Karan: “Main? Boutique wale mujhe dekhte hi confuse ho jaate hain. Last time maine ladkiyon ka anarkali lehenga le aaya tha. Uss din se mujhe ‘Karan Didi’ bulate hain.”

Shivika laughed.

> Kritika: “Then ask Siddharth.”

> Karan: “Siddharth is useless alone. Tumhari behen jaayegi uske saath. She has a brain.”

Shivika’s smile instantly dropped. “Wait. What?”

Kritika muted the call.

Shivika: “Kya matlab mera brain? Why am I being volunteered?”

Kritika smirked. “Because if we send Siddharth alone, my mom will walk in tomorrow wearing the boutique's curtain sample.”

Shivika (dramatically): “I am not going anywhere. I’m not dressed. I have lehenga prep. I have thaal polishing. I have—”

Kritika raised a brow. “You're wearing jeans and your blouse right now. And you’re clearly free.”

Shivika looked down at herself: high-waisted light blue jeans, her lilac lehenga blouse — sleeveless, deep cut from the back — and her hair tied up in a lazy clip. No dupatta. Just vibes.

Shivika (gritting teeth): “I am so gonna murder Karan.bhai "

Kritika unmuted the call. “Done. They’re leaving in ten.”

Shivika flopped back on the bed, throwing a cushion at the ceiling.

“This day is cursed.”

Siddharth leaned casually against the car, scrolling through his phone as if the universe wasn’t currently testing his last ounce of sanity.

That was until he looked up.

And forgot to breathe.

Shivika stepped out of the house—jeans clinging perfectly to her legs, her lavender lehenga blouse hugging her like it was stitched by sin itself. No dupatta. Hair in a messy bun. Sling bag across her torso, grazing the delicate skin just above her ribcage.

She bent slightly to adjust her chappals—and that's when he saw it.

A soft glimpse of skin between her waistband and blouse.
