Here she comes, walking towards me
A vision of beauty, flowing in white
I stop, I stare and I dream of the future
Lifting myself up to a new found height
We talk, we charm, it all comes so easy
As we connect and we laugh, long into the night
Here is the woman, the one of my dreams
The one I will die for, never give up the fight
We have similar interests, the same little quirks
From classic TV to games of the past
She leans in for a kiss, squeezes my hand
Can I do this? It is moving so fast
Yet it feels so right, such a perfect moment
Nothing can ruin this feeling inside
The connection, it sparkles, explodes with joy
Is this my wife, my one future bride?
We talk about family, how we grew up
Holidays we went on and games we played
Although from different walks of life
It feels like this union was meant to be made
But the bombshell drops when we talk of beliefs
Dashes my hopes like a ship on a rock
Whilst I'm not religious, she is a Christian
A doctrine in which I hold no stock
Her body drops as she hears my opinion
That my heart holds no space for the god she admires
She talks of her church, her extended family
But I feel no joy, nothing that inspires
She says I should visit, should hear a sermon
Take the chance to enter the kingdom of the lord
But my body tightens, my brain tries to shut off
I just tell her with me it does not strike a chord
I look into her eyes, I really could cry
She is so incredible, a beautiful sight
We have so much in common, so I have to ask
Do I go to her church or do what is morally right?
