~Chapter 13~

"Swing left; LEFT! Wait...no I meant to say right! I messed up I messed up!"

"Lily!"

"Soooory!" The Gryffindor Qudditch team had been practicing all evening with the very first match of the year coming up in only a week. James Potter II, captain and chaser for the Gryffindors, had ensured a brutal practice plan; gunning for his team a definite win against Hufflepuff.

He refused to lose to anyone.

The entire team flew down from their halted practice, at their captains request and joined in a huddle. James was much too aggravated to deal with bad plays at the moment; he was in his last year, he already had so much to deal with.

Nothing school wise of course; no never that. It was all smooth sailing for him now. He was sure to become an Auror like he planned and one of the best at that.

No his dilemma had nothing to do with school work; his biggest and only problem right now, besides trying to win the house cup for his team again this year, was a short cute little Gryffindor by the name of Ivy Thomas.  The girl had his heart from the very beginning of her first year for two reasons:

She was the perfect little first year trophy.

And Albus had her first.

Now don't get him wrong; James was not evil, not even the slightest compared to wizards seen in their history books. He and his younger bro just seemed to have the same taste in girls and well if James was just a tad bit better and getting them then that's his business.

James had an knack for stealing his brother's little female friends away and Ivy was of course no different matter. At least that's how it had seemed for the past five years. He had done well to keep her at a distance to where they couldn't just go and spark up a new friendship willy nilly; but close enough to dangle his new-found happiness in front of Albus.

If you've got it, flaunt it right? Isn't that what people say?

All had been going quite well with James; his life seemed absolutely perfect when his mother wasn't scolding him for being the prat of a brother he is to young Albus. He had too many friends to count, many followers on his side, captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team whom has two 3 victories under his belt since he's been there so far.

The competition got a little tougher when the second Potter boy decided upon joining Slytherin team and, wouldn't you know it, turned out a pretty damn decent seeker.

But now; now things were going to fall apart; he just knew it. James had this feeling, this ominous feeling that something was wrong with the world and only just now opened his eyes to what it was.

The boy was in love.

Yes as silly as it sounds that was his dilemma. James Potter II was not a man of love. Yes, he still dated Ivy but only to keep Albus on stress level one hundred. He always thought Ivy was adorable and sweet but never actually fancied her in that manner.

Just the greatness she could bring him.

So why, when Ivy so suddenly announces that she's to be somewhere in the late night just before curfew, did he become so hurt and angry? Could it have been the suspicious tone she held when saying the word "out"

Or maybe it was the way she dodged the question of "where" out was; and "with whom" she was going out with because James did ask those questions in his best attempt to not sound like an over protective father; or worse a possessive boyfriend.
