~Chapter 15~

The lights along the road back to Hogwarts provide a dim romantic glow against the dark sky. The children had just finished their date at Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop and were all casually making their way through the chilly evening back toward their school.

Ivy and Albus slowly lead the way, with his arms draped around her waist and his chin on her shoulder. Lacey and her date follow closely behind the first couple; hand in hand while giggling and whispering sweet nothings to one another. Nami and Crode trailed behind the second couple in their own private bubble of awkwardness. Neither of the two had said anything since leaving the teashop, walking with space in between as to not let on any suspicion.

The rest of the date had went well with the two. They spent the whole night bickering and stroking each others intertwined hands without the rest of the party even sparing them a second glance. Now, however, the couple were walking in a silence so uncomfortable everyone at Hogwarts could probably feel it.

Crode wanted so badly to make some kind of move or at least ask what was going on between the two of them now but his fear of rejection seem to stop him. He knew he was getting somewhere with her thanks to the intimate hand hold in the teashop, but he was so surprised by everything tonight that he was unsure if it was real or just his imagination.

Nami on the other hand was wondering why Crode was being so awkward. She thought she made it clear to him what she wanted. The cheesiness of a relationship while maintaining the instability of what they call a friendship. She looked up at him slyly, catching a glimpse of his side profile. His unruly blonde locks, focused grey blue eyes, lips thinned into a perfect straight line, and his hands shoved in his pocket revealing just how nervous and uncomfortable he was. Crode was just as good looking as she remembered him to be at the beginning of the night. Still a complete dork, but good looking none the less. And she fancied him. She was okay with admitting that now. At that thought, Nami allowed a smirk to stream across her face.

"What's the matter Snufflepuff? Upset because you lost the bet?" Crode slightly jumped at the sudden sound of her voice but quickly recovered with a glare.

"Who lost what now? If I recall the bet was that I could show you a great time on a date, which you obviously had, so if anyone won anything it was me."

"And who said I had a great time? This was the most unfun mediocre crappiest date I've ever been on." Nami snarled back.

"Yet your eyes were big as saucers the moment you stepped into the teashop; I'm quite sure you were drooling when you saw all that pink."

"I was not drooling!"

"You were immensely drooling."

"Oh please if anyone was drooling over anything it was you! I saw how you looked at me across the table all night long. Stars in your eyes all night."

Crode paused taken aback by the statement. Nami didn't seem to be paying attention as she continued ranting about how she won. What should he do? There were two ways he could play this out.

Deny the statement and continue bickering or own up to it and...and what? What would happen if Crode had did just that? Admit to staring at Nami all night long like the love-sick puppy he was. There were many different routes that could go too but the question is will he actually be brave enough to take that chance. It only took a millisecond for his mind to be made up.
