~Chapter 14~
SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE HOUSES!! 8D

"I'm doomed!"
"Ivy-"
"I'm completely and utterly doomed!"
"Ivy..."
"I mean he just flat out and said he wants to spend more time with me, that he loves me, he asked me to go to the ball with him Lacey! THE BALL!" Ivy cried out her breath becoming ragged with each word. She was, by definition, now in the hyperventilation stage of freaking out and Lacey was worried she might pass out if she didn't calm down.
"Ivy! We have to be calm about this! Breath, in and out---that's it---in and out." Lacey stood from the floor grabbing Ivy by the shoulders and staring directly into her eyes. Ivy nodded and began the slow breathing process.
In and out, she thought, don't freak out. She had been in a panic all night and all morning due her talk with James yesterday. No sleep came, not when all she could hear was an endless loop of "I think I love you" in James vulnerable voice mixed with a chuckle of "You're so gonna get caught" compliments of Lacey and a dash of "It'll be our secret" chiming from the throat hole of Albus Potter. The young girl was freaking out majoring and had no idea how to deal with it; so she turned to the only other person available that knew about it, Lacey Longbottom.
"I think you're overreacting Ivy; I mean you always knew James sorta fancied you right?"
"Yes of course, but he never actually said it like that. He never displayed so much emotion in one sitting. Usually it's a "Lookin' grade A today Thomas" or a "How 'bout a trip to the three broomsticks? You and me yeah? Call it a date?" Ivy mimicked James to her best ability and did a surprisingly accurate job in Lacey's mind.
"Not bad." She grinned at the impression.
"Lacey focus. What I'm saying is he's never been one for emotions. Not even when we first started dating; so why all of a sudden now?"
"You don't think..."
"He knows Lacey! He knows I'm spending time with his brother again! He knows something's up and he's trying to guilt it out of me!"
"I dunno, James is cruel but not that bright Ivy. Maybe he's suspicious and just got a little scared."
"You think so?"
"Yeah, nothing proves he knows anything yet so maybe he's caught on a little and is trying to right any wrongs he'd done before everything spirals. I mean this is James we're talking about; he's used to getting away with a lot of things. Getting dumped would devastate him." Lacey shrugged rolling her eyes and taking a seat on her bed.
"Yeah...yeah you're right. He doesn't know he just suspects something. That still doesn't solve my issue though. I mean with all that confessing and stuff I feel sort of bad hiding the fact that I'm friends with Albus again behind his back. Almost like-"
"Your cheating on him." LAcey finished with a smirk making Ivy's brown cheeks turn a shade of pink.
"That's not what this is!"
"Isn't it? Come on Ivy just be honest for one second. If Albus and Mel broke it off for whatever reason that had nothing to do with you, would you be glad or not?"
"I-I dunno...I'd feel bad for him and her...a break up is never really a happy moment."
"Okay different approach." Lacey scowled through her teeth. "They've broken up now and Albus says he loves you and wants you back and blah blah blah; then what would you do?"
