~Chapter 9~
The castle was quiet as it normally would be on a normal Sunday morning. Due to the cold starting to settle in no one even dare leave the warmth of their bed if they hadn't a reason to; and luckily a specific homework assignment gave them reason to stay put.
It was like a plague had washed over the entire sixth year class in the form of a quill, parchment, and the assignment of a lifetime; at least thats how it seemed to everyone who hadn't already completed it. Scorpius Malfoy, one of the brooding, slammed is parchment scroll down on the dark green duvet in frustration. He had been writing all morning, only stopping once when his hand caught a horrible case of cramping, and had still only gotten halfway through the minimum length of the essay. He mentally cursed himself for not taking the time to do the dreadful assignment earlier like the Weasley girl. He just new she was gleaming and boasting about while the rest of their class suffered.
After writing for another hour or so, stopping to curse the professor responsible for this death of an essay and swearing off school to become hermit for the rest of his life; Scorpius decided it was time to take a break and see how his housemates were getting along. Granted he never really liked any of his housemates at all anyway, besides the obvious few, but it gave him an excuse to stop writing the bloody assignment.
He made his way down the long staircase, bypassing others sprawled out in the hall in random odd positions trying to keep themselves alive enough to do their own essays. He shook his head in empathy for his fellow sixth years knowing exactly that same pain.
The blonde trudged down the stairs in bemusement staring at his best mates running around the common room loudly as Emelie stood stock still in the middle with bored eyes watching him.
"What's all this about?" The grey eyed teen asked making his presence known. Emelie looked up at him with an even more annoyed expression while Albus had not spared the boy a single glance.
"Em's gotta date this morning and she doesn't know what to wear." Albus says frantically rummaging through a pile of clothing on the long black sofa.
"Now see if she would've come to me with this earlier we could have easily avoided this issue! How am I supposed to dress her when her date is in five minutes!? It just doesn't work that way I tell you! I need time to prepare." Phaethon shouted in distress tossing shoes everywhere looking for a specific pair.
"They are way too excited about something I don't even want to do." Emelie deadpans rolling her green eyes.
"Roll them again! Go on, sass me one more time! I dare you!" Phae pointed a dangerous finger in her direction causing her to throw her hands up in surrender.
"I'm sorry I think I'm missing something here; did you say she's got a date?" Scorpius asks, surprise finally settling in.
"It's not a date."
"It is SO a date!"
"It's not a date!"
"Okay its a friend date."
"A what?" the blonde asked now entirely confused. "What the bloody hell is a friend date?"
"You know, when you go to an outing with a potiential new best friend. Scope the fields, get a feel for the person." Albus clafrified.
"What does she need more friend's for? She's already got you and him, I'm more of a love interest type of deal for her but still-"
"I hate you."
"Not now sweetheart later, my point is she's got tons of people occupying her I don't see why she needs another."
"Because this one is a girl!" Albus gave a muffled shout from beneath a deep layer of clothing; still searching for a perfect outfit.
