~Chapter 17~

(Albus POV)

"Mate it's so hectic out there you wouldn't believe...Scorpius, what are you doing?" I ask closing the door to our bedroom behind me. I had walked in on Scorpius face planted in a bunch of books, pacing around the room frantically. He looked the most distressed I've ever seen him; mostly because Scorpius Malfoy is never stressed. Ever.

"Nothing, just looking up something anyway what were you saying? Hectic? Out there? Disbelief?" He says tossing the book behind him and focusing on me. I debate on whether or not I should be worried about his behavior but decide against it and move on.

"I was saying that it's insane in Hogwarts today. Everyone's acting weird, loud, in a frenzy even." I say plopping on my bed with a huff.

"You don't know why? Could it be you haven't figured it out yet?" Scorpius eyes widen before he begins to snicker. I raise an eyebrow at him in curiosity. Did I miss something important?

"I'm lost..." Scorpius laughed even harder at my comment.

"The talk of the town himself is so oblivious to the world that he doesn't even know when people are giving him odd looks."

"Wait, everyone's talking about me? Why me?" I ask distraught.

No, no, no, no. This is bad.

"Of course their talking about you. Do you know how many of our classmates saw you out last night? And with a group of Gryffindors no less; not to mention one in particular. Mate, you've gotta be kidding me." he rolls his eyes at me with a slight shake of his head.

No, no, no, no.

"I-I didn't think news would get around this fast. I mean I knew people would see but I didn't think it'd be THIS big a deal." I groaned into my pillow.

"Yeah well news spreading is the last of your worries; what everyone is really talking about is Zabini's aim on Ivy now that she knows why you couldn't be with her last night."

"And knowing Mel she's probably told the entire Slytherin community."

"Yeah...and maybe a few others as well."

Before I could ask what my best mate meant by that sentence a loud knock came at the door. I shot a weary glance to Scorpius who only gave me a shrug in reply. I slowly walk the door anticipating who it could be and swung it open; a shocked expression on my face the moment I see those familiar evil brown eyes.

"Hey little bro, fancy a chat?" James smirked slyly leaning against the door frame. My eyes instantly narrowed in anger. He knew about me and Ivy and he was grinning; something was definitely not right.

"How did you get in here James?" I growl my patience wearing very thin in this doorway.

"That's not really a matter of question though I'll tell you it was fairly easy; you guys should really pay more attention to your female population. They seem to crave a lot of attention, no?" he grins brushing past me into the room and helping himself to my bed. He sends a small nod to Scorpius whom of which responds with one as well.

"What do you want James? Come to warn me about dating Ivy again? How did the last conversation go again? It'll never work out, drop her as a friend blah blah blah." I smirk crossing my arms over my chest leaning on the bed post. For a moment I see something glint in his eyes but I'm not sure what.

Rage? Anger? Jealousy?

Whatever it was, it left the moment it appeared; his face replaced with his trademark James Potter smirk.
