Usually Miguel was up against super power villains or really annoying teenagers who didn't understand the multiverse.

But when he went out to find a new anomaly he was surprised to see a young girl curled up in an alleyway soaked from the rain.

'Took you long enough to find me,' you mumbled. Miguel raised an eyebrow and looked down at you.

'You were expecting me?' he mumbled. Slowly taking some steps forward.

'Yeah, had a few strange dreams of people warning me about you. You come after anomalies like me.'

'So, you gonna come nicely? I don't feel like chasing anyone,' he said. You could hear the exhaustion in his voice.

'Too weak to run, don't worry. Least tell me you can take me somewhere with food and maybe some dry clothes,' you said. He revealed his face, looking down at you.

'Come on, kid,' he said. He watched as you stood up, noting how weak you seemed.

'Haven't got accelerated healing like other spider people?'

'No, I got the shit stuff. Spider sense and super hearing, which sucks,' you mumbled. Miguel knew first hand what sensory overload was like.

'Come on, kid.'

Back at the HQ you sat in the warmth, a blanket wrapped around you with a cup of water in your hands.

'So, you don't know where you've come from?' he asked. You shook your head, glancing away nervously.

'Well, what do you remember from your childhood?'

'Not much, just bits and pieces. The only clear memories I have is waking up in random realities,' you said. He paced up and down while trying to think.

'Reality hopping with fragmented memories. Rare, but not unheard of,' he muttered. You didn't know if he was talking to you or himself.

'This has happened before?'

'I've heard of a few cases. Usually they die after hopping between realities so much,' he said. Your face paled as you stared at him.

'What!?'

'Shit, I probably shouldn't have said that. You're still young which means you probably have time left,' he said. You crossed your arms and looked away.

'Gee, that's reassuring,' you grumbled. He sighed and rubbed his head, mumbling somehting in Spanish.

'What if I don't have anywhere to go back to?'

'Everyone always has somewhere to go back to,' he said. He finally stopped pacing and looked at you.

'But what if where I'm from is destroyed or something?' you asked. He sighed and ran a hand over his face.

'We'll deal with it if it happens. For now I just need to trace where you've come from,' he mumbled as he stepped forward and pulled one of your hairs out.

'Ow!' you shouted before he walked away.

'Stay there, I'm testing your DNA,' he said. You would argue but you knew it wasn't worth it with someone like Miguel.

He returned a few hours later to see you asleep on the chair he left you in. He sighed and gently shook you awake.

'Kid, it's me,' he whispered as you slowly sat up and yawned.

'Mmm, that's the best sleep I've had in a long time,' you said. He looked at you, trying to hide the pity in his eyes.

'Did you find where I come from?' you asked. He paused and kneeled down so he could look you in the eye.

'Your world is gone... Much like mine was destroyed, a non Canon event happened and destroyed your reality. Somehow in the chaos you left the reality before it was destroyed,' he said. You stared at him. There were so many thoughts running through your mind. What had you left behind in that world?

'So, I'm just eventually going to disappear?' you asked. Miguel hated the sadness in your voice.

'I should be able to come up with a way to stabilise you, like I did with myself. But you'd be stuck here with me, maybe we could even train you to help out,' he said as you smiled softly.

'Thanks, and hey if I do end up disappearing one day. No hard feelings,' you said. He chuckled and shook his head.

'You're gonna annoy the hell out of me, aren't you?'
