Chishiya couldn't stop himself when he grabbed onto Sora's shoulders. He was trained better than this, but the tear that rolled down Sora's cheek made Chishiya think he was starting to come to. Now, Chishiya knew this could be all reflex, but Chishiya hoped that it meant Sora was closer to waking up than dying. Chishiya didn't know what was happening to Sora, what was making him cry.

"Sora, come on. Wake up." Chishiya didn't admit it, not even to Kuina, but Sora became the best part of his life. Before knowing what their relationship was like back in the borderlands, Chishiya never thought his life with Sora would change. He enjoyed every moment of it, including the times they argued over stupid shit.

Chishiya didn't want to picture his life without Sora in it.

"Sora. Wake up."

Arisu's hand was on Sora's back, doing his best to comfort him as he tried to hold it together. What Sora did was a sacrifice – somebody else could have stayed behind, but Sora decided to make the decision easier. Sora had seen the futures of the other players and thought about who deserved it more than him. Sora and Arisu were sacrificing their futures to stay in the borderlands and play whatever game the Joker wanted.

Sora openly sobbed. It was one of the hardest decisions Sora could have made. He was giving up on his life, giving up on a future with Chishiya, just so the others could live.

Arisu noticed the wall in front of them began to show them what exactly was happening on the other side of that wall. Sora lifted his head up, looking for himself. Usagi was crying too while the others stood and watched. Usagi was distraught without Arisu leaving the borderlands.

"Arisu..." Sora whispered.

Arisu's face fell when he watched Ryuji pulling a gun out of his breast pocket. "What is he doing?" Arisu asked, jumping up to his feet. He ran to the wall, knowing there was nothing he could do to alert anyone. "Usagi!" He shouted. Sora wiped his eyes, looking around. There had to be another way out – they couldn't have gone through that whole game just to have Usagi get killed. Sora got up to his feet just as Ryuji dropped his hand to the side of his wheelchair, unable to kill Usagi.

"Congratulations."

"What?"

Sora looked up at the screen, standing next to Arisu. He wiped his eyes again, trying to understand what was happening. "You, the last remaining players in this room, have entrusted everyone with their futures. And for that reason, you now also have a future. To the player who has remained in this room, game cleared." Sora's heart sank.
