I haven't written in this journal in the past few days about our adventures because I got carried away. We were having too much fun and I didn't have the time, but now that you're fast asleep in this hotel somewhere in the middle of Ohio, I figured it was time to write about the few adventures we had along the way.
The morning we left Colorado, you were fast asleep in the car. It was actually a good thing that you bought that GPS otherwise I would've gotten lost. You woke up a few hours later just in time for lunch. We quickly stopped by a Subway store to get some sandwiches.
When we got to Kansas, of course, the place you wanted to go and see was the Museum of World Treasures-- you and your admiration for Dinosaur specimen, Egyptian mummies, and the American presidents. You were excited, so I didn't mind going to another museum.
Going around the museum with you is like having my own private tour. You knew every single fact. The only time you would stop talking is when you would take pictures of me looking at the paintings and the different structures inside the museum.
Ever since we were younger, you were always fond of taking photographs. You had that camera with you everywhere we went. Our school fair, graduation, prom, my first date (I'm still annoyed that you agreed to my dad's offer of following me around during that date), and every other adventure we go to.
Although, you never showed me a single photo. I would ask to see some of the pictures you took but you always waved me off. I don't really know why. I hope you show them to me one day.
Quickly after the stop at the museum, we headed straight for the next state: Missouri.
When you asked me what I wanted to see in Missouri, I told you straight away that I wanted to see the Titanic museum, which, of course, made you roll your eyes.
"Do we have to?" You groaned as you continued driving.
I turned to you and said, "We went to those stupid museums you wanted to go to in L.A. and in Kansas. Why can't we go to this one?"
"Those were about history!" You retorted.
"Titanic is part of history." I tell you, "It's only the movie that revolves around the love story. C'mon, Niall, I know you want to. Please!"
You sighed and smiled at me, "Fine. You win."
I did a little happy dance in the car, which made you smile bigger and shake your head. Once we got there, I dragged you around. The amounts of times I said, "this is so cool" or "Niall, do you see that?" has probably reached past ten fingers.
But you did not once complain. You just kept smiling at me and nodding you head, even if I knew you weren't the slightest bit interested.
In the middle of us going around, you held my hand and stopped me from walking. "Do you remember that scene in Titanic where Jack and Rose were dancing? The one where they spun around?"
"Yeah." I answered, not sure where you're going.
You pulled me towards the center of the museum where there was huge space. You let go of my hand and sent a smirk away. Before I knew it, you were pretending to tap dance the way Jack did in the movie.
"Oh, Niall." I said giving myself the biggest face palm in the world, "Please don't."
You smiled at me and said, "C'mon."
You kept doing it, which attracted attention from all the other tourist. You gave me that look— the look wherein you're tempting me to do something. The crowd around us started clapping to the beat of you trying to tap dance.
