"A quote that will live forever"

were separated for a year
a silence without closure,
a story paused mid-sentence.

I had always been a little spiritual,
but that year turned the volume up.
Angel numbers on clocks,
signs in passing conversations,
synchronicities tapping my shoulder
like the universe saying,
Not yet. Not finished.

Everyone told me to chill.
If it's meant to be, it's meant to be.
Heal. Relax. Let go.
But how do you let go
of something that never said goodbye?
So I carried it quietly.
Until one day
six months deep into surrender
I finally said, Fuck it.
There's nothing more I can do.

And suddenly, everything became clear.

You can't rush love.
You can't force timing.
Some things need distance
to remember their shape.

Then April came.
A tarot reading on Facebook said,
Someone will reach out.
You'll finally get an answer.
I laughed.
Bullshit, I thought.
A year of silence doesn't break like that.

But that very day,
she replied.
We met again
walking through Epic Universe,
like time had folded in on itself.
The past didn't feel heavy,
just familiar.
We talked about us,
about everything we couldn't control back then.
And I understood
the universe didn't break us.
It stepped in.
Separated us
only to return us stronger,
clearer,
ready.

Now that quote lives differently in my chest:

If you love them, let them go.
If they return, they were always yours.
If they don't, they never were.

I finally know
what it means
to let go without losing,
to wait without chasing,
to trust what love becomes
when it's real.
