Imperfections

Every night, he lies awake,
his thoughts wandering toward tomorrow,
toward a future filled with questions
that somehow have no answers yet.

He dreams of her.

And sometimes,
the dream becomes too beautiful to hold,
and the tears come quietly.

Their lives are busy.
The days disappear into work,
responsibilities,
and everything life places between two people.

But even in the distance,
he remembers how fortunate he is.

Not because she is perfect.

Because she isn't.

He loves the little imperfections
that make her real.

The marks on her skin,
the tiredness written across her face,
her hair becoming a beautiful mess
after a long day.

The quirks that make him laugh.
The expressions she probably doesn't realize she makes.
The moments she might consider flaws
that he could stare at for hours.

He doesn't want perfection.

He wants her.

The woman beneath the photographs,
beneath the makeup,
beneath the carefully chosen words.

The woman who is simply herself
when nobody is watching.

And maybe that's what makes her beautiful.

Not some impossible version of beauty
that exists only in someone's imagination,
but the kind that grows stronger
when you finally see everything.

The flaws.
The fears.
The strange little habits.
The vulnerable pieces.

And still think,

I would choose you.

He knows he's not perfect either.

He's made mistakes.
He's carried wounds.
He's said things he wishes he could take back.
He's spent nights questioning himself,
wondering if patience means waiting
or simply learning how to love without demanding.

So he waits.

Not because he expects perfection from her,
but because he is trying to become
the kind of man worthy of something genuine.

Something neither of them has to pretend about.

he hates the sentence.

"All men are the same."

Because every time someone says it,
something inside him quietly answers,

No.

Don't put me in a room
with every man who ever hurt you.

Don't make me pay
for wounds I didn't create.

Don't measure my heart
with someone else's ruler.

I am not all men.

I am simply me.

A man with his own scars,
his own mistakes,
his own promises.

A man trying to show her
that love doesn't have to arrive
with a hidden agenda.

That tenderness isn't weakness.

That patience isn't indifference.

That staying doesn't mean possession.

And that sometimes
the greatest proof of love
isn't saying,

"I will never hurt you."

It's saying,

"I will spend every day learning
how not to."

Because he doesn't love her
despite her imperfections.

He loves her
because somewhere inside those imperfections
is the woman he fell for.

Real.

Unpolished.

Beautifully human.

And if she ever looks at him
and wonders whether he sees her flaws,

he hopes she understands:

He sees them.

Every one.

And somehow,

they only make him want
to look a little longer.
