July was one hell of a month.
It wasn't kind to many of us.
It handed me doubt,
asked hard questions about who I was,
about where my future was leading,
about whether I was enough.
But then I looked behind me.
I remembered every mountain that once looked impossible.
The relationships that shaped me.
The work that challenged me.
The person I slowly became without even realizing it.
Growth is strange.
You rarely notice it while you're climbing.
Only when you stop to catch your breath do you see how far below the valley has become.
Around me, the world seemed to be carrying heavy suitcases.
Friends grieving breakups that changed them.
A young coworker gone far too soon.
People searching for purpose.
People waking up spiritually.
People asking questions that don't always have immediate answers.
My own relationship became the greatest teacher I've ever known.
It woke me up.
Spiritually.
Emotionally.
Mentally.
In a few months, I'll ask the biggest question of my life.
Not because it's perfect.
Not because there are guarantees.
Because love is never a guarantee.
It's a choice.
A leap.
A quiet promise whispered long before the words are ever spoken.
I've told so many friends the same thing:
When you know... you know.
Trust me, there were days I wanted to let go.
Days when the silence felt louder than any conversation.
Days when our separation convinced my mind that the story was ending.
But something deeper refused to let me quit.
It kept whispering,
"Your chapter isn't over yet."
And somehow...
it was right.
When you've found your person,
your heart recognizes them before your fears ever do.
You can try to explain it away.
You can overthink it.
You can pretend it isn't there.
Yet something keeps pulling you back toward hope.
Some of my friends call that God's will.
I call it listening to the quiet places inside my soul.
Maybe we're speaking different languages for the same kind of faith.
When I first started posting on this app,
I wasn't trying to inspire anyone.
I was simply trying to empty my mind.
Every poem became a page.
Every page became another step forward.
This life hasn't been easy.
But maybe it wasn't supposed to be.
Maybe every setback was teaching me how to appreciate the moments that finally feel like home.
And if one day these words disappear,
lost to an old server,
buried somewhere in forgotten code,
that's okay.
Because they were never written to last forever.
They were written to remind one person,
on one difficult day,
to keep turning the page.
Sometimes that's all hope asks of us.
