thought's of tomorrow

He smiles at the thought of tomorrow,
not because he knows where the road will end,
but because for the first time in a long time,
he isn't afraid of not knowing.

His heart wanders back to December.

A little staycation.
Epic Universe.
Frozen Butterbeer melting between conversations,
her laughing without rehearsal,
without pretending to be anyone but herself.

She drifted from shop to shop,
searching for the perfect little treasure,
while he quietly realized
he had already found his.

Then came March.

Yoshi.
Sweet treats.
A handful of ordinary moments
that somehow became extraordinary.

Time folded itself into something gentler.

The crowds disappeared.
The noise surrendered.
The world seemed to lower its voice
so two people could simply walk together.

Across the way,
someone fell to one knee.

He smiled,
looked at her,
and asked,

"What if I proposed right here?"

She turned,
met his eyes,
and without hesitation replied,

"I wouldn't say no.
I'd marry you."

Some called it a joke.

Others smiled and whispered,

"The right person doesn't joke about forever."

He carried those words home
like a lantern through the dark.

For months,
he has planned quietly.

Every reservation.
Every tiny detail.
Every dream tucked carefully into tomorrow.

Some days doubt arrives,
wearing convincing clothes.

It asks impossible questions.

What if?

But then the universe answers
in the only language it has ever spoken.

Be patient.

No stress.

No rush.

Everything is unfolding exactly as it should.

Once,
he feared love.

He feared giving someone
the power to break his heart.

Now he understands something beautiful.

Some people are worth the uncertainty.

Worth the waiting.

Worth the silence between messages.

Worth every sleepless night
spent wondering if destiny
was quietly writing the next chapter.

He no longer asks
whether love is worth the risk.

He already knows the answer.

Because somewhere between
Frozen Butterbeer,
a walk through a theme park,
a whispered "I'd marry you,"
and a future still waiting to arrive...

he stopped searching for certainty.

He started trusting the journey.

And perhaps that is what faith has always been.

Not knowing how the story ends,

yet waking each morning,

smiling,

and turning the page anyway.
