Oh September,
please be kind to me.
I remember the night
I made that wish,
when I looked toward the universe
and whispered,
I'm ready to love again.
I never knew
the person I would meet
would send me on a journey
far deeper than love.
A spiritual journey.
A journey through patience,
faith, doubt, hope,
and everything in between.
I've loved before,
but she is different.
Not perfect.
Flawed.
Beautiful in every way
that makes a person real.
Sometimes I wish
I had met her sooner,
but perhaps that isn't
how the story was meant to be.
They say sometimes
you find the right person
later in life,
after you've lived enough
to understand what love
is truly asking of you.
We separated for a while.
I tried to run.
I tried to give up.
I tried to move forward
and convince my heart
to let go.
But somehow,
the universe had other plans.
And when we found our way
back to each other,
something simply felt right.
She taught me patience,
even when her silence
drives me completely insane.
But perhaps that is another lesson
I was meant to learn:
Real love doesn't always
need to be loud.
It doesn't need
to be spoken every day
to be felt.
Sometimes love is quiet.
Sometimes it lives
in the spaces between words,
in the memories we carry,
in the person who somehow
never really leaves our heart.
And I feel her there.
In my heart.
In my thoughts.
In the quiet moments
when the world finally stops talking.
And now September is coming.
A new chapter.
A moment I've carried
inside my heart for so long.
I'm going to ask her
the biggest question
I've ever asked anyone.
But the answer
will always be hers.
Yes, it is her choice.
Her heart.
Her decision.
All I can do
is stand before her
with everything I've carried,
everything I've learned,
and everything I still feel.
And perhaps, someday,
she'll look back at me,
smile through all the years
and all the miles
and all the uncertainty,
and whisper the words
my heart has been waiting for:
"It was always you."
