When you know

He knew.

From the first text.
The first laugh.
The first date.

Somewhere between ordinary moments,
his heart quietly whispered,
"There she is."

In a few months,
he'll take the biggest leap of his life.

Before that day,
he sought the wisdom of those
who had already walked the road.

"How did it go for you?"
he asked.

An older soul smiled,
wearing years in the corners of their eyes.

"My biggest regrets?
The chances I never took.
Take the risk, kid.
Life is far too short."

Another laughed.

"When you know...
you know."

"Do you think she'll like it?"
he asked,
his confidence briefly borrowing the shape of doubt.

The answer came without hesitation.

"Kid,
the way you describe her,
I don't even need to see a photograph.
She sounds incredible."

Then came the words
he would carry with him long after the conversation ended.

"And knowing the way you love...
she's the luckiest girl in the world."

He smiled,
looking away so no one would notice.

"When she smiled at me..."

The reply arrived before he could finish.

"Kid...
she wasn't pretending.
Women don't smile like that
when it means nothing."

Still,
the silence between conversations
sometimes echoed louder than words.

"We haven't talked in a while..."

The answer never changed.

"Don't worry about it, kid.
If it's meant to be,
it's meant to be.
You've known that all along."

Love,
real love,
has never measured itself
by the length of silence.

It measures itself
by the peace that remains
when the world grows quiet.

So he steadied his heart,
looked toward tomorrow,
and chose courage over certainty.

Because some stories
aren't written by perfect timing.

They're written by people
brave enough
to ask the question anyway.

And somewhere,
beyond the waiting,
beyond the wondering,
beyond every mile that separated them,

his heart still whispered
the same truth it had spoken
from the very beginning.

You're hers.

And she's yours... she'll open the book and begin to write your next chapter together.
