Dear August

Please be kinder to us than July was.

July arrived carrying storms in invisible suitcases. Everywhere I looked, someone was fighting a battle they never posted about. Love felt complicated. Relationships bent beneath the weight of silence. Bank accounts stretched a little thinner. Hearts carried more than they let on.

Still...

July left behind a lesson.

Take care of yourself.

Protect your body.
Protect your mind.
Protect your heart.

Money comes and goes like the tide. Peace is worth holding onto.

So here you are, August.

A blank page.

I don't know what story you'll write, but I'm excited to turn each page. Somewhere inside this month is a moment I've been dreaming about, one I've carried quietly in my heart. I don't know how it ends, but hope has a funny way of packing its bags before certainty ever arrives.

And if you're reading this...

This part is for you.

You are not alone.

You are loved far more than your doubts will ever admit.

The world is undeniably better because you're in it.

Some mornings getting out of bed feels like climbing a mountain barefoot. I know. Some days survival deserves as much applause as success.

Be gentle with yourself.

Forgive yourself for the days you only manage one small step.

Smile when you can.

Cry when you need to.

And for the love of everything good...

Remember to laugh.

The loud, uncontrollable, snort-in-the-middle-of-the-sentence kind of laugh.

Be wonderfully, unapologetically weird.

The world already has enough people trying to fit inside boxes.

Be the person who colors on the outside of them.

Here's to fresh starts.
To second chances.
To unexpected phone calls.
To healing hearts.
To courage that arrives five minutes after fear.

Hello, August.

We're ready.

Please... be kind.
