It was Love

There is a quote that found me when I believed my world was collapsing.

If you love them, let them go. For if they return, they were always yours. And if they don't, they never were.

At first, I thought I understood it.

I didn't.

Love isn't something you learn from novels,
or borrowed from fairy tales,
or memorized from the pages of someone else's happy ending.

Stories can teach you the language of love,
but only living it teaches you its heartbeat.

We all believe we understand love...
until it walks into our lives,
takes our certainty by the hand,
and rewrites everything.

The saddest truth is that many people never allow themselves to experience it again.
A past heartbreak builds walls,
and those walls become a prison disguised as protection.

But I've learned something.

Real love is worth every risk.

The right person won't ask you to become someone else.
They'll quietly remind you of the person you were always meant to be.

They don't erase your scars.
They help you stop apologizing for them.

They don't silence your insecurities.
They stand beside you until those insecurities lose their voice.

Love doesn't complete you.

It awakens you.

People speak of love as though it's soft.

It is.

But that softness carries astonishing strength.

Love is gentle enough to hold your hand when you tremble,
yet powerful enough to shatter every mask you've spent years wearing.

Love is dangerous,
not because it destroys us,
but because it asks us to be seen exactly as we are.

No armor.
No performance.
No pretending.

Only truth.

And perhaps that's what makes it so rare.

Real love is patient.
Real love is understanding.
Real love chooses kindness when pride would be easier.

If someone is meant to walk beside you,
you won't have to chain them to your heart.

Set them free.

If they return,
you'll know it was never possession that held them.

It was love and love always wins!!!
