"No regrets"

A friend asked, "Do you regret her?"
"No," I replied, "Not a bit. I chose her above all,
She was the answer when I called,
A prayer spoken when love felt lost,
When I was single, yearning to find
Something true, something kind."

The spirits listened, they heard my plea,
And sent her to walk beside me.
You ask why tears still touch my eyes,
Why her absence feels like skies
Clouded by a haunting dream—
Because with her, life felt serene.
I could let go, just be,
No masks, just us, simply free.

I wish her joy, I wish her light,
Hope one day if not with me another might
See in her what I once did,
And love her as I always would.
But now, our paths have split apart,
Our love a memory, a bittersweet start.

What haunts my nights, what brings me fear,
Is that she may need years to clear
The fog that hides her worth from view,
While some men seek what's shallow and few,
Blind to the soul that shines so bright,
Blind to the woman worth the fight.

When I met her, I saw much more,
Not just the beauty, but the core,
The soul that made her worth the wait—
And I hope, before it's too late,
We find our way back, perhaps will reconcile, and become Two souls, once more.
