Kira and Y/N sat at a table in the middle of the school courtyard looking down at their homework. Kira was scanning through the AP Bio chapter she was supposed to read last night, while Y/N was trying to solve the last algebra problem from her homework assignment. Once finishing Y/N closed her notebook and placed it in her book bag. She looked up to see Stiles and Liam making their way towards their table. A big smile forms on her small round face at the sight of Stiles and his dark brown hair, creamy chocolate irises, cute little moles, and dimples at the corner of his lips.

Stiles was rambling to Liam about the Mets game last night, but Liam couldn't focus because all he could hear was Y/N's heartbeat increasing with every step he took towards her. He looked up at her to see her smiling, and he couldn't help but smile back.

"God, could he be any cuter?" Liam heard Y/N telling Kira with his werewolf hearing.

Kira looks up from her book and into the direction Y/N was looking at. "Who? Stiles or Liam?"

Y/N closed her hands into tiny fists and placed her chin on top as she sighed, "Stiles."

Liam's smile falters. She wasn't smiling for him. She was smiling at the lanky rambling kid next to him. Liam didn't understand what Stiles had that Liam didn't. What made him so much more special? He thought to himself. His head hung low. While looking down at his feet, he noticed Stiles shoelaces were untied. A smirk formed at his lips as an idea popped in his head. He looked back up and "accidently" stepped on Stiles' loose shoelaces, making Stiles jerk forward.

"Whoa," Liam extended his arms out, catching Stiles before his face met the pavement, and hoping Y/N would see what a hero Liam was. "You should really tie those shoelaces, buddy."

"Phew!" Stile said, grateful for Liam's rapid reflexes. "Thanks, bud." Stiles slapped Liam's shoulder before kneeling down to tie his shoe.

"Hey, Kira! What's up, Y/N?" Stiles said as he reached the table.

"Hey, Stiles! Hey, Liam!" Kira said before looking back at her book.

"Hi, Stiles," Y/N sighed with her head still on top of her fists.

"Hey, Y/N," Liam slid his hands into his front pockets.

"Oh, hey, Liam," Her eyes flickered towards him, but Liam noticed she didn't say his name with so much adoration like she had with Stiles.

"How's your morning going so far?" Liam sat in front of her. She had her long hair down in loose curls and her bangs pulled back with a bobby pin. Her eyelids were covered with a light sparkly pink shade with a little bit of glitter and were highlighted with a thick layer of eyeliner on the top eyelid and a light coat of mascara on her lashes, making her small almond shaped eyes pop.

"So far so good, thanks to Starbucks." She answered.

"Did you finish that algebra assignment?" He asked, locking his ocean blue eyes with her eyes. Her eyes were hazel, light brown around the pupil, fading into an emerald greenish color. Liam always thought her eyes where like a galaxy. Something so beautiful and could get lost looking at for hours. In his eyes, she was beautiful, breathtaking, and perfect.

"I actually just finished it," She flashed him a quick smile. She completely turned towards Stiles and her lips pulled into a bigger smile. "Stiles, how about that Mets game last night?"

Stiles' head immediately turned away from his phone and towards her as his eyes grew wide with interest. "You watched it?!"

"Yeah! David Wright was the star of last's nights game." Y/N stated. "He changed the momentum of the game when he caught that grounder by third base and did that triple play in the bottom of the fifth inning."

"Yes!" Stiles exclaimed. "That's exactly what I was telling Liam just now."

Liam scowled, suddenly wishing he had paid attention to Stiles' nonsense earlier or actually watched the game last night so he could have a conversation with Y/N.

"I had no idea you watched baseball." Stiles smiled at Y/N.

"I know a thing or two about the sport."

Kira tried to hold back her laughter. If only Stiles knew she bought a "Baseball for Dummies" book and spent a week studying that book cover to cover.

"What about in the fourth inning-" Stiles didn't finish his sentence as Lydia's presence distracted him. "Oh hey, Lydia." Stiles smiled wide, displaying his cute dimples. This time Y/N's smile faltered.

"How are we this morning, Lydia?"

"I'm great, Stiles. Thanks for asking." Lydia smiled back at the boy with a cheesy smile. "So I think I have a clue about the next key for the dead pool." Lydia brought up. "I brought my laptop-"

"Oh great! Let's go to the library!" Stiles placed his hand at the small of her back and guided her to the library. Leaving without saying goodbye.

"Bye," Y/N mumbled sadly to herself, but Liam heard it.

"It hurts doesn't it?" Y/N looked back at Liam and answered his own question before she could ask what he's talking about. "Seeing someone you love in love with someone else?"

"Yeah it does," Y/N responded but didn't know Liam was referencing about his feelings towards her. "I just wish he could look at me the way he looks at Lydia, ya know?"

"I know what you mean. It's like you can't stop thinking about them, and you ask them how their day is going just to hear them talk, even if it's for a few minutes. Or when you laugh at their jokes just to make them smile. Then when you find out they like someone else, and you just want to go up to that person and yell 'do you have any idea how lucky you are to have someone look at you with so much admiration?'"

"Yesssssss," Y/N lingered. "See you get it." Her fingers started drumming against the table. "I just wish I was as pretty as she is," she sighed.

Liam shook his head. "Don't tell Lydia," He leaned in closer to her, "But I think you're the beautiful one."

Y/N smiled that smile Liam loves. "Thanks, Liam." She leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on his cheek. "You always know how to cheer me up." Before walking away, she slung her book bag over her shoulder, "I'll see you in algebra class, Liam."

Liam let out a heavy sigh as he watches her walk away into the main building.

"I'm sorry, kiddo." Kira's voice made Liam turn to look at her.

"What?" He asked as if she doesn't know what she's talking about.

"Come on," Kira closed her textbook. "I see the way you look at her. You're in love with her and she's in love with Stiles. She looks at him like he's her knight in shining armor."

Liam stood up from the bench. "Y/N might think she found her knight in shining armor but I know how the story ends, with me as her Prince Charming." The first bell rang signaling the students had five minutes to get to their first period. Liam walked away, leaving Kira still sitting on the table.

"I hope you win and get the Princess," Liam smiled at Kira's comment.
