Y/N reached for the doorknob with her keys in the other hand, ready to unlock the front door of her shared house with her best friend, Dylan Sprayberry. She paused for a second. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as the memory of what happened two weeks ago crossed her mind.

Y/N rubbed her eyes after waking up from a much-needed nap. She had studied the night before for her last two finals. She was physically, emotionally, and mentally exhausted. With school done for the semester, she was looking forward to spending more time with her best friend as he had been working so hard with auditions, filming a movie, and starting a new band. With their hectic schedules, they hardly had any time together.

As she made her way down the hallway, she heard Dylan laughing really hard. Her lips formed a small smile. She loved the way he laughed. It always made her heart warm and fuzzy. However, her heart dropped when she heard someone else laughing with him, a girl's laugh. It was one she's heard of before, but hadn't heard in a while.

Y/N turned the hallway and walked into the living room. Her heart ached at the sight in front of her. Dylan was sitting on the floor with his back against the couch; Samantha Logan was sitting between his legs with her back against his chest. His arms were around hers with his hands on top of hers on a game controller playing Call of Duty on his Xbox.

Y/N wondered if she was too busy with finals to notice Dylan gotten back with his ex-girlfriend within a week. Her mind raced back to the short conversations they had while passing through when one of them was leaving or arriving home, vice versa.

Without Dylan or Samantha noticing her, Y/N quietly retraced her steps and walked back to her room. She grabbed her duffel bags and packed some clothes. Now that she was done with the semester, she could go on a much-needed vacation.

Tears flowed down her cheeks as she packed her clothes quietly. She mentally checked off the things she would need to visit her other best friend, Veronica, in Vegas. She didn't know how long she'd be gone, but right now, she didn't care. Y/N knew she needed her best friend and to take a break from Dylan while he was rekindling his romance with his ex.

Y/N quietly snuck out of the house and into the garage. She doesn't know how, but she managed to get away without Dylan noticing. The image of him having too much fun playing video games with Samantha crossed her mind, causing more tears to fill her eyes before driving off.

Y/N shook her head, trying to shake off the memory before she opened her eyes. She unlocked the door and walked in. With a few lights on, she knew Dylan was home. She closed the front door and locked it behind her as Dylan called out her name.

Even though she'd been gone for two weeks, she wasn't ready to face Dylan just yet. Without responding back, Y/N walked down the hall towards her bedroom. She opened the door to find three dozen roses on her desk. The first dozen had already died with a few petals fallen on the desk. The second dozen were barely alive, and the third dozen were fresh. She walked up and noticed there wasn't a card.

She dumped her bags in her closet, choosing to deal with them later and crawled underneath the covers. Even though she was comfortable in her yoga pants and the Teen Wolf Liam hoodie Dylan had gotten her as a birthday gift, she still wanted to cuddle in bed. It was one of the few places where she felt safe and comfortable.

"Y/N?" Dylan knocked on her bedroom door. She closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep. She heard the door open. Dylan immediately noticed she was hiding under the covers. He already knew something was wrong since she left without telling him and didn't contact him while she was gone. However, he knew it was something serious if she was refusing to leave her bed.
