Once upon a time, there was a beast, more specifically a werewolf, named Liam Dunbar and he was in love with a princess named Y/N.
In his eyes, she was fearless, bright, and beautiful. He was in awe with everything she did. Her kindness and unselfish gestures made him want to be a better man. She was passionate about the things she loved. She was sometimes shy but isn't afraid to speak her mind, and Liam loved everything about her. Except, there was one problem. She was in love with someone else.
Like every fairy tale, love is never easy or simple and has a long and hard journey of its own. Y/N was in love with a knight in shining armor named Stiles. He was funny and witty, but loyal. He was perfect, and the kind of guy every girl wants for her fairytale ending. In her eyes, Stiles was handsome and the kind of guy she imagined spending her life with.
Y/N had her heart set on her knight in shining armor, but Liam was willing to fight for his princess and win the key to her heart, as she already had the key to his, she just didn't know it yet.
"Hey, Y/N!" Liam gripped his backpack strap tighter as he jogged towards Y/N. "How's your day going so far?"
"Liam!" She smiled and continued walking towards the cafeteria to meet up with the pack for lunch, eager to spend a few minutes with Stiles. "My morning was kind of rough. I had a pop quiz in biology that I'm sure I failed-"
"I'm sure you did great," Liam reassured her as he kept up with her pace.
"Then we have to turn in our take home exam for algebra, which I didn't even get to finish-"
"You can get the answers from mine," Liam offered.
She stopped in her tracks and looked at him. "I wasn't saying that hoping you would give me the answers."
"I know, but my offer still stands." Liam's eyes sparkled with eagerness, hoping they would spend a few minutes together.
"That would be great," She smiled and walked towards the double doors of the cafeteria. Liam opened the door for her. "Thanks," She smiled at him once more as she walked through the doors and towards an empty table.
"So I was thinking," Liam scratched the back of his neck. "Maybe we could watch the Mets game together tonight, since you're a fan."
"That's a great idea!" She sat down, pulling out her sandwich from her brown paper bag.
"What's a great idea?" Scott asked as he reached the table with Stiles by his side, both carrying trays with their lunches.
"Liam just suggested we should all watch the Mets game tonight," Liam's face faltered as his plan with Y/N backfired. "What do you think, Stiles?" Her eyes suddenly filled with hope.
"YES!" Stiles' eyes sparkled with excitement. "I like you! I'm keeping you!"
Liam noticed the blush rising on her high cheekbones. He hated that Stiles had this kind of effect on her, when he didn't. He wished he were the one causing her to blush. He wished she wanted to spend time with him instead. He wished she liked him instead.
"Please, Scotty, can we watch the game instead of having our stupid annual movie pack night?" Stiles whined.
"Yeah, Scott," Y/N joined in. "Pleeeeeassseee?"
"Yeah," Scott agreed, nodding his head. "I think watching the game would be fun and something different. Great idea, Liam!"
"That's not what I meant," Liam mumbled under his breath. He pulled out his algebra homework and slid it over to Y/N. "Here you go." He got up from his seat.
