Y/N woke slowly, the weight of another body pressed against her side making it impossible to forget that Daniela had stayed over, again. Daniela's arm was slung lazily across her waist, fingers warm, familiar, like she belonged there.

Because, well, not that Y/N was complaining, she kind of did.

Y/N shifted carefully, enough to turn onto her back. Daniela stirred almost immediately, eyes blinking open, a faint smile tugging at her lips. "Are you alright? I can hear your thoughts over here." Daniela murmured.

Y/N exhaled, "Yeah, I am just mentally preparing for later." Daniela propped herself up on one elbow, hair falling messily over her shoulder. "Where are you going?" Y/N hesitated, not because she did not know the answer, but because she did not want to lie. "Jennie's company," she said, finally. "I'm meeting her and the other girls. To discuss, you know, what's going to happen next since I took up on her offer of going into the legal route."

The Latina smile faltered. Just ever so slightly. "Oh," She cleared her throat. "I thought we were going out. You said today. It's Saturday. I have no classes and it's your off day?"

Y/N frowned, guilt creeping in. "I know and I didn't forget. I just-" Daniela sat up now, pulling the sheets with her, eyes sharper. "It kind of feels like you did."

The bedroom went quiet, heavy with unsaid things.

"I know they offered to help but I didn't expect this fast. Will you be spending some alone time with Jennie or all of them?" Daniela laughed.

Y/N did not pull away. Instead, she exhaled, honest in a way she had not been with anyone in a long time. "I did not want to waste time anymore."

Daniela hummed, softly. "With Jennie." She assumed.

"No, with Yunjin, Dani." Y/N corrected, jaw tightening just a bit. "And knowing her? She is not just gone. She is probably making moves. She always does." Daniela's brows furrowed, "So, you are rushing because you are scared?"

Y/N met her gaze. "No, I am moving because if I don't, she'll show up eventually and flip everything upside down again." That made Daniela pause. She leaned in then, slow, intentional, fingers sliding to Y/N's waist, thumb brushing warm skin just under the shirt.

Not crossing a line, but standing on it. "So, what am I?" Daniela asked softly. "A distraction before the past catches up?"

"No," Y/N's breath stuttered when Daniela's lips brushed her jaw, barely there. "You're... now." Y/N sighed as the younger's fingers slid along her arm. Slow. Deliberate. Resting at her wrist like she was grounding her there. "This is not fair." Y/N whispered.

"Neither is this." Daniela replied gently, leaning in just enough that her lips hovered close, warmth lingering. "You do not get to make me stay then disappear." Her thumb brushed over Y/N's pulse, feeling it race. Y/N swallowed," I did not ask you to stay." Daniela smiled softly. "You did not have to."

The space between them felt electric, charged with want, frustration, and something dangerously close to expectation. Daniela leaned in, pressing a lingering kiss just below Y/N’s jaw, slow enough to make a point, restrained enough to make it worse.

"Just don’t forget me," Daniela murmured against her skin. When she pulled back, Y/N was breathless, conflicted, already late and very aware that whatever she was walking into next, she was carrying Daniela with her.

Y/N texted Jennie the moment she stepped into the lobby which read, I’m here.

She barely had time to slide her phone back into her coat pocket before the elevator doors across the space opened again. Jennie walked out herself.
