Numb.
Confused.
Overwhelmed.
"What did you just say?" Jennie was not the one who asked.
"Hey, what did you say?" Y/N turned to Nayeon, who had asked the question. She was being yanked away from Jennie, who was visibly upset. "I said," Y/N did not seem to care. She wanted to get everything off her chest. "I do not want to be with you anymore, Jennie." The words were repeated. Jennie winced and placed her hands over her ears, as if that would help.
"What is making you mad?" Y/N mocked her cousin. She hoped that, of all people, Nayeon would understand why she said that. "Why are you acting like you did not see this coming?" Y/N turned towards Yujun and decided to confront him. "You are still new. Did you see this coming?" The man looked around after being forced into an uncomfortable situation. "I would rather not be involved. I don't want to pick a side." Y/N scoffed and muttered, calling him a coward.
"Don't be rude to him." Jennie disciplined her girlfriend. Girlfriend?
Are they still in a relationship at this point?
"I am not speaking to you." Y/N turned away from Jennie, but the younger girl had other ideas. "Yes, you are." She grabbed Y/N's hand and led her to the only occupied room in the dorm.
"Let me go!" Y/N attempted to resist, but Jennie's grip was firm. "What is wrong with you?" Jennie asked Y/N to take her seat after pointing to the bed, stating that she would not leave until they talked. "You are not leaving! Hey!" Jennie pressed Y/N to stay. "Talk to me!" The woman eventually collapsed on the bed. "Can you talk to me? Can you please," Jennie said after Y/N's actions ceased. "Please tell me that what everyone else has been saying is not true." Y/N's entire demeanor softened after hearing Jennie's words.
"Why are you asking me if you have the answer, Jennie?" Y/N asked. Jennie let out the gentlest gasp known to womankind.
Y/N addressed her as 'Jennie.'
Yeah, that was her birth name, but Jennie knew Y/N never calls her 'Jennie.'
"I don't." Jennie chose to ignore the pain and lied about agreeing with the information. "I have no idea what the answer is. Can you tell me?"
"Do not lie to me." Y/N let out a laugh.
"I thought we were okay. What happened to us, baby?" Jennie began to sob. Y/N subtly pushed Jennie to get off her lap. "You're asking what happened?" Jennie nodded and reached for both of Y/N's hands but was pushed away. "Let me ask you something, Jennie." The younger girl winced at the name again, but it went unnoticed by Y/N. "When was the last time we were on a date?" Y/N was now being direct. Her arms were folded, which prevented Jennie from grabbing onto them and distracting the one who asked.
"Don't come near me. You can answer my questions from over there." Jennie approached, and Y/N warned her. That also did not work.
"Are you going to answer me?" Y/N refocused Jennie's attention. "Wh-what?" The younger one stuttered due to embarrassment. "When was our last date?" Y/N urged once more in a slower tone, as if speaking in this manner would help Jennie's case.
"We, well, we," Jennie tried to reciprocate. "I think I should rephrase this question. When was the last time we did something that made us both happy?" Jennie's expression became saddened as the question was rephrased. "Happy?" She sounded devastated. "What are you saying? Are you not happy... with me?" Y/N gave a chuckle. She threw her head back, covering her face with her hands. Oh, she was becoming frustrated.
"See! This is why I know you do not pay attention to me anymore; all you have been thinking about lately is you, you, and you!" Y/N's voice grew with each word. "It has all been about Jennie's wants and needs. How about me?!" Y/N used both of her hands to gesture towards her chest. "When was the last time we did something I wanted?"
