Demons completely took over the land, and expanded all on earth. While humanity has technically been extinct, the demons kept some humans alive either as pets, servants, or entertainment.

One being a signing competition. Humans go to complete for their lives while singing against each other. Many seasons of this competition have been successful, and still runs strong. Being supported by the king of demons, Muzan Kibutsuji himself, plenty of demons go to see it every year.

A fan favorite being Kanae Kocho for her beauty and elegance. Another is Amira (l/n). She is rumored to be the daughter of a previous winner, (M/n) (l/n). But sadly (M/n) died without answering questions.

We go to one girls life, y/n. Raised in the garden with the other children. Her older sisters, Amira, Kagome, and Sakura took care of her when they visited the demons for their monthly visit. Her sisters were all y/n had. Amira was the closest with her, being a mother of sorts. Kagome was distant, and never tried to even look at y/n, and Sakura was always spaced out, no matter how hard y/n tried to get her attention.

Yet, despite thinking she had enough to get by, she met a boy. A strange boy. Muichiro Tokito.

They met in the garden, and y/n got hit with one of his paper airplanes. Muichiro had a twin brother, Yuichiro. Who wasn't very kind at first.

Muichiro and y/n found each other in the same training room, due to being the same age. For some reason, she was drawn to how . . . Emotionless he seemed. He never talked to anyone who wasn't Yuichiro either. Did y/n . . . Find sympathy or empathy for him?

As for Muichiro, y/n was beautiful. Sure at first when he saw her, it was easily noticeable. But what else there? It's not like she worth the time, right? But when y/n stopped a demon from trying to take away Yuichiro, he felt thankful towards her. Like he couldn't repay her no matter what.

That was when they started hanging out. The two found joy in each other's company. Even Yuichiro smiled like Muichiro had never seen. Neither did y/n feel this type of excitement when she went to the garden. She always went to sleep with a smile, wondering what the next day would be like with them. Especially Muichiro.

It wasn't long before y/n developed a crush on Muichiro. His kindness and the joy he brought her was something she was both happy . . . And scared for. She was young still, and knew very well of what her future had in store. If she didn't score higher than her opponent . . .

She thought she was going to make Muichiro suffer with her feelings. What would they both have to gain with her feelings? Did he even feel the same? What if she looses and never sees him again? What if he dies?

Y/n didn't know what to do.

But Muichiro felt even more helpless and terrified. When he found out he liked y/n more than a friend, he became scared of what could happen to her. He didn't want her to die. He couldn't bear the thought of her eyes turning dark and lifeless. He couldn't even bear the thought of it happening to Yuichiro.

As for Yuichiro . . . He wasn't sure of anything anymore. He wasn't a fan favorite, but wasn't hated either. He got the highest scores in training, but was told he lacked performance. He couldn't care less about the demons. He wanted them dead, and to escape the place. All he had was Muichiro. After their parents died, he took on the role of caring for him. But y/n she . . .

Yuichiro felt as though he didn't deserve her. She brought a smile back to Muichiro's face, and brought a light into his world as well. He knew of her sister, Amira, because of the stolen files in his guardians office. He knew that y/n had potential to win it all. Even he nor Muichiro could complete with her. As much as that terrified him . . . He also loved her for it. He loved how kind she was to him. How warm he felt when she was around. How she could be his escape. But . . . He saw how she looked at Muichiro. How Muichiro looked at her.

Y/n's caretaker, a human that turned into a demon after he defeated his brother(she read his file before falling asleep). He was also looking after the Tokito twins, because they had the same dna samples he did. He saw how well the three bonded together, and put them together as potential partners for the competition.

Y/n didn't think much about it, for she was just happy to spend more time with them. Especially Muichiro. But she would later realize how that was the first step of her heartbreak.
