It had been a couple of days since the twins had arrived and Joe was having the time of his life looking after them. They seemed to be enjoying themselves as well. He had a visit from Beth to see how things were going on but everything seemed fine at the moment. He hadn't been over to see Demi yet, he just wanted to settle into life with Chiron and Kaia before he brought Demi into the picture. He had spoken to Denise over the phone though telling her that her grandchildren were here with him, that he would bring them over soon and to warn Demi that he was. Then she could leave if she didn't want to see them or stay to meet them for the first time since she dropped them off in front of the care home doors. He still didn't know why she did that.
"Daddy where are you going it's dinner time, you should be getting into PJ's not clothes." Kaia questioned as she looked up at her father who let out a small chuckle as he buttoned his shirt up then lifting her up onto the bed helping her jump up and down. She was still small enough to not cause any damage to his bed.
"Daddy is going to work." Joe stated kissing her head, he had only booked four days off and had to go back today. He had arranged a babysitter to come and take care of them while he was gone, he hoped one day maybe Demi would take care of them. If she wanted anything to do with them.
"Why?" Kaia questioned.
"So I can get money to buy you food!" He cooed lifting her up.
"What do you do?" He knew they were at the age where they would be asking loads of questioned. They also seemed to want to get to know him too.
"I'm a chef, I cook people food." He set her down on the floor taking her hand leading her into the living room where Cai was sat on the table drawing. Kaia was smart for her age but Joe could see how creative Cai was.
It was within twenty minutes that the babysitter had arrived, she was just a teenage girl that needed a little extra cash so was willing to babysit for the night just while Joe found a more permanent person to take care of them. Joe had spoken to the girl's parents to make sure that she was okay and alright with looking after the twins.
"I'll see you two later, be good." He gave the twins a kiss before he left the apartment heading off to work. He still worked with one of Denise's friends but had be given a promotion since he had finished school, Dale seemed to like him a lot and knew how good of a chef he was. He seemed to be in a stable job which is what he wanted with having the twins with him now.
"Mollie can you play dollies with me?" Kaia inquired noticing that Cai was still colouring on the table, it's what he did a lot of the time when he wasn't playing with his sister.
"No, I want to watch TV," Mollie snapped at her pushing her out of the way making her fall down onto the floor, she begun whimpering holding onto her head where she had hit her head on the coffee table. "Oh stop crying you baby."
"Kaia!" Cai exclaimed when he heard what was going on, he rushed over to Kaia giving her a hug only to be kicked over by Mollie who just laughed at them.
"Stupid fucking kids are the easiest money I've ever made." She taunted bring a can of beer out of her bag opening it up.
Beth was coming over the next day to ask the twins if they wanted to stay living with Joe or go back to Brad and Mandy. If they showed any signs of not enjoying where they were they would be taken off Joe before he could even fight to keep them. Mollie could ruin Joe's chances of being a father just as he was getting used to having them around.
Before Demi even got the chance to meet them.
