"T-Then what's the ring?" Demi inquired her boyfriend who leaned down giving her a short kiss before pulling back smiling at her.
"Can you remember when we were still teenagers? Me and mom got robbed?" Demi nodded her head gently. "They took my mom's engagement ring and her broach which had been passed down for many generations. I noticed them both in the window of a second hand jewellers so I brought them. I'm going over to the care home tomorrow to give them to her." Demi sighed of relief making Joe laugh slightly, he knew he wasn't ready for marriage yet either.
"That is so cute Joe! I'm sure she'll love the gesture." Demi praised kissing his lips gently. Joe smiled through the kiss as he kissed her back her hands coming up to her cheeks.
Joe and Demi made their way through the care home alone, they didn't want Cai and Kaia to be around when Joe gave Dianna back some of the most important possessions she's ever had. Joe knew her and he knew she would most likely get emotional. Joe knocked on the door before they both entered greeting Dianna as the door shut behind them.
"Where are Cai and Kaia?" Dianna inquired, it was unusual for them to visit and not bring the twins. She enjoyed seeing them but she also enjoyed seeing her daughter grow bigger and bigger everytime she saw her. It meant her Granddaughter was growing too. They both took a seat on the edge of the bed as Dianna was sat at her desk on her laptop. The bag with the ring and the broach were sat in Joe's lap ready to be given back to their rightful owner.
"I have a present for you, I did tell you I'd find them again one day." Joe grinned handing her the bag, Dianna raised her eyebrow as she took the bag in her hands. She reached inside bringing out two different boxes. She opened the bigger box first gasping when she saw her engagement ring laid in the box, she took it out the box just to double check it was the ring. It was. It had 'Love isn't just a word' written on the inside.
"Is this the broach?" She questioned Joe nodding his head gently, she opened the smaller box coming close to tears as she saw the broach laid there, the broach her mother had given to her when she was just eighteen. "Where did you find these?"
"They were in a jewellers, Joan must have sold them to the shop. I knew how much they meant to you so I brought them." Joe explained.
"Come here and give me a hug." Dianna demanding Joe laughing as he got up from his seat hugging his mother as she hugged him back kissing his cheek gently as they pulled away from each other. She would always see him as her son no matter what had happened in the past. She grabbed his hand when he was about to sit down making him stand up straight again. She placed the boxes down in his hands not even hesitant to let go.
"Mom, they are yours." Joe stated.
"No I want you to have them, make use of that engagement ring one day," Joe smiled putting them back in the bag taking a seat. "As for the broach Demi can have that one, it has always been passed down to the daughters in the family, I was hoping Joe would have his own daughter one day and I would pass it down to her before I passed on but now I have a daughter you can have it. Pass it down to Kaia when she's eighteen." Dianna instructed softly Demi smiling.
"Thank you and I will, it's a beautiful broach." Demi praised.
"I just can't believe you found them Joe, thank you so much." Dianna couldn't thank Joe enough for finding them and buying them.
"I told you when you figured out Joan had took them I'd find them one day and I did, You don't have to thank me." Joe took Demi's hand kissing her head gently the three of them engaging into a conversation. Joe knew one day Demi would have the ring as well as the broach. He was sure he was going to marry her one day.
