Demi made her way back home after spending the day with Joe and her children, it's been a long while since she's had this much fun, she felt good that Joe was able to forgive her for everything that she's put him through as teenagers but it was a long time and he doesn't seem to care about that anymore. She was glad because she was really starting to like him. Demi entered her house sorting out her bag before slumping down on the couch next to her mother.

"Where have you been?" She inquired but her daughter was nearly twenty one, she couldn't lecture her anymore for not being home. She had gathered that Joe had invited her to stay the night as he got back from work late but she thought something more when she saw the blush come to her cheeks shaking her head gently. "Be careful Demi alright?"

"He's the one who had forgive me for everything, we'll be careful I promise."

"I just care about both of you and would hate to see you or either of the twins to get hurt." Denise took hold of her hand as Demi smiled.

"I know you do but we both want to be in our children's lives so we'll have to at least get along I don't know though, I'm getting feelings for him and I think he is for me so we'll give it a shot. If it doesn't work it doesn't but if it does then great. I just feel as if all these years have been about getting a job and now that I have I can think about me rather than my job." Demi explained.

"As long as your both happy."

The next couple of days went by quickly until it was Thursday. The day Beth is coming back with a member of the authorities to announce whether Joe would be able to keep Cai and Kaia. They hoped because Demi was now in the picture they would realise that Cai and Kaia would be fine. Demi would work in the day then look after her children of a night while Joe is at work which forced her to spend a lot of time at Joe's apartment. Occasionally but only once in the couple of days she has taken them to her house to spend time with their Grandparents and uncles before putting them in bed back at home. Joe led Beth and James into the living room where Demi was with the twins painting, they had plenty of newspaper on the floors and they were in scruffy clothes. He introduced them both to Demi who was painting with them, they sat down and spent some time with the twins before James led Joe into the kitchen where they took a seat in private.

"Tell me how you've coped?" He inquired.

"I think it's going well, I look after them in the day while Demi is at work, she's their mom then by the time she's finished work she can take over while I'm working. I had a bit of a problem with a babysitter pushing them and drinking while she was here but her name has been passed onto the police and since then Demi has been looking after them. They seem to enjoy it here, with their family where they can spend time with Grandparents and their Uncles on Demi's side. I just really don't want to lose them." Joe expressed.

"And you think you're ready to do this full time?" Joe laughed slightly.

"Being a parent is full time, you get no time off but I love it and I love them. Now they are here I can't imagine them not around." Joe replied.

"I'll have to have a quick chat with Demi then I'll make my mind up." Joe nodded his head gently thanking him before exiting the room sending Demi in so she could have a talk with James. Joe sat next to Beth.

"Go well?" She questioned Joe shrugging his shoulders.

"I don't know, he hasn't revealed anything." Joe sighed running his fingers through his hair but smiled he watched Cai and Kaia play with one another nicely. They were inseparable, he dreaded when they would go to school and possibly had separate lessons. He didn't know how well they would cope but he might not even have to worry about that. If James says they don't belong here then he could lose them within a week of finally having them.
