"W-What?" Joe questioned but hugged her back as she brought him into a hug laying his head on his shoulder. He didn't quite understand what was going on or how this woman and her husband could be his parents. Dianna was the one who raised him up, how could the hospital have mixed two babies up? Especially when they were different genders. It didn't make any sense to him at all. Denise pulled away from him laying her hands on his cheeks again.

"No matter what happened Joe Dianna is your mother, she raised you into the man you are today and although our genes are the same Dianna will always be your mother," Joe nodded his head gently letting his tears roll down his cheeks. "I always knew there was something special, something about you." She mumbled wiping away his tears but he smiled kissing her cheek gently. He was surprised when she pulled away from him Paul giving him a hug too, it was strange to hug him back but it felt right at the same time. He had a father, something he's never had before. He had three brothers after spending his life thinking that he was an only child. He went through a lot with Dianna, looking after her and living a life which should have been Demi's. It was all a bit overwhelming for him to think about. His family has just more than doubled in size.

Demi was sat on her hospital bed after been told the news that she had gone home with the wrong parents. She could hear voices outside as she held onto Dianna's hand, she could hear Joe's knowing that he knew now too. She was still crying gently after learning that she only had a mother, that Dianna was the one who had given birth to her.

"It still doesn't make any sense to me." Demi mumbled sighing.

"It was very hectic for me when I gave birth and by what Denise had told me hers was the same. You and Joe were born less than an hour of each other without either of us knowing what gender we had." Dianna explained rubbing the top of her hand with her thumb.

"I don't know how I feel, on one hand I feel really happy because now I know that your my mother," Demi cracked as small smile as did Dianna. "But at the same time I'm upset that I didn't go home with you, I should have gone through what Joe had gone through, looking after you every day." Demi expressed looking at her mother.

"Everything is just a little overwhelming at the moment, it's hard to think about everything changing. Your both adults now, Joe doesn't live with me and your thinking about moving out. I'm sure Denise and Paul want to get to know Joe as much as I want to get to know you as my daughter but no matter what happens Joe will always me my son and Denise and Paul will be your parents." Demi smiled nodding her head gently.

"It will just mean that I'll have two families." Demi grinned Dianna smile squeezing her hand.

It wasn't long later that Joe entered the room giving his Dianna a smile before she left the room so they could be left alone. Joe made his way over to the bed leaning down kissing her gently Demi soon kissing back before they pulled away from each other Joe taking hold of both her hands kissing them gently before speaking.

"I'm okay, I told them the truth and they let me go. I can pick the twins up on my way home." Joe explained Demi nodding her head.

"What do you think about this whole swapped at birth thing?" Demi questioned.

"I don't know what to think of it, we have two parents now when you think about it. I'm a bit angry that I went through all that for someone who wasn't my mother but when I think about it more, I love her like my mother still." Joe explained.

"It will be hard to adjust to but I think we can work past it." Demi stated smiling as he kissed her again. They didn't want this to affect their relationship.
