Joe just wanted to slam the door on his face but he knew that he at least deserved to know that he wasn't his son. He wouldn't take him back anyway and would try and convince Demi not to let him into her life. He can remember as a little boy how upset his mom was when he had left, he wasn't a good man and he didn't want him around his children.
"I'm not your son." Joe stated calmly and simply.
"Of course you are, I know I haven't been around but your still my son." Patrick argued Joe shaking his head gently making sure the door wasn't open very wide. He didn't want his so called father to look in, see what he has achieved in his life.
"No I'm not." He argued back.
"Joe your twenty one now, stop being immature." Patrick complained.
"You can't just come to my apartment and start lecturing me, you haven't been around since I was two! Mom was in a car accident when I was eleven and I had to look after her, as a teenager I had to look after her while juggling school and work just so we could pay the bills on time. If you hadn't of left I could have been a real teenager! I'm not your son so you may as well leave." Joe snapped at him, he wanted to stick up for himself and his growing family. He sighed looking down when he felt someone tug on his pants looking down seeing Kaia looking up at him.
"Mommy and daddy upset." She mumbled.
"Kaia go into the living room." He spoke sternly, he didn't want his daughter to see him upset or her mother, he could feel himself getting worked up.
"But daddy..." She murmured.
"Go!" He snapped sighing as she ran away crying, he didn't mean to make his little girl upset. His eyes wondered back up to Patrick.
"You have a daughter?" He questioned Joe nodding his head.
"But you can't see them. I'm not your son because the hospital go me swapped with another baby, congratulations you have a the daughter you always wanted." Joe snapped at him this time slamming the door on his face. He sighed running his fingers through his hair, he hoped Kaia wasn't too upset and that Demi would speak to him.
Joe made his way into the living room cracking a small smile when he saw Kaia hugging Demi who had now come out of her room once she heard her crying. Wanting to comfort her little girl knowing her little sister wouldn't want her to be upset. She also had Cai on the other side of her holding onto her hand for support, she just buried her head further into her mother when she saw Joe enter the room again. He knew he would have to make it up to her somehow.
"What did you say to her?" Demi questioned.
"I maybe snapped at her, um my dad or your dad was at the door," He revealed Demi looking up at him as he wondered over bending down near Kaia after kissing Cai's head. "Daddy is sorry, there was a mean man at the door and daddy was angry at him." Kaia pulled away from her mother looking at her father. She knew he meant no harm.
"You raised your voice, that not allowed." She mumbled Joe cracking a small smile.
"I know, I'll go for another time out. How does that sound?" He smiled more when Kaia giggled reaching out for him. Joe picked her up standing up straight. "I'm sorry baby girl." He kissed her head gently as she laid her head on his shoulder.
"I love you daddy."
"I love you too," He ticked her sides making her giggle before he put her down on the floor but took her hand as she reached out for her beginning to walk Joe following so he didn't drag her down. "Baby where are we going?" "Putting you on timeout." Demi giggle as he was dragged out the room shaking her head gently.
