A/N: Hey lovely people. I hope you are all well and having a wonderful weekend, wherever in the world you find yourselves. For those that don't know, I'm in Brisbane Australia. Suddenly it's autumn and I'm enjoying the cool change. FINALLY!
Sorry for the delay in chapters. It's been a big month. The family has had some viruses, and it was school holidays, so not much space for creative writing.
But here it is. Enjoy!!!
Mia woke to the calm weight of Charlottes leg draped over her hip, and her leg in between the brunette's thighs. The comforting sensation of her fiancés arm resting along the side of her chest, fingers slightly bent and the tips lightly resting on her shoulder blade.
She had never experienced such comfort in this kind of physical closeness. Not in this romantic way. She pulled Charlotte closer, as though the few millimetres between them had been an endless distance she couldn't bear.
Mia let a satisfied hum escape, and she felt her stomach grumble in a recently familiar way that told her she needed food, or pregnancy hormones would send her nausea as a reward.
'I felt those rumbles,' Charlotte giggled with her eyes still closed, 'Our baby needs food', she said with a smile. Mia wasn't sure there was enough development to call their little one a baby yet, but she loved it when Charlotte said it. God, it made her so unexpectedly happy.
Mia rolled over towards her bedside table where a stack of snacks was kept for the mornings. A cereal bar was what she reached for. Dived for. The cranberry and almond craving so desperate, the redhead ripped the wrapper and took half in her first bite.
'Jesus, remind me not to get in the way of you and a cranberry breakfast bar,' Char shook her head and giggled, halfway through her yawn.
'The baby is hungry,' Mia pouted, and finished the bar in two more bites.
'Hmm,' Char smirked and pulled in the redhead for more morning cuddles before the door creaked open and the patter of feet signalled the real start to the day. Evie wriggled in between them, a smile on her face and little kisses given to both women.
'Mama?' She asked the redhead, curiosity overflowing in her eyes, 'how big is the baby now?'
'Oh, I got an app that tells us that!' Mia picked up her phone and saw the message notification but ignored it in favour of the pregnancy app that measures your baby week by week, according to fruits or vegetables. 'So, our baby is about the size of an olive or peanut,' Mia tells an enthralled Evie.
'Whoa!' And the young girl put her hand on Mia's stomach, and her face towards the redheads belly button, 'Hello little olive peanut, I can't wait to meet you. I'm your big sister Evie!'
'Damn pregnancy hormones,' Mia cursed as she wiped a tear from her eye. Char hands her a tissue.
'What can we have for breakfast?' The six-year-old placed her hands in prayer under her chin, a wide full grin on her face as she looked at both women.
'Pancakes?' Mia asks, already knowing the answer.
'YEAH!' The young girl jumped up and thumping her feet to her sister's room, shouting 'Pancakes!' the whole way.
'I love how they just change subjects like that?' Mia mused.
'Wait for a couple more years and we will have three of them doing that!' the brunette warns.
'I can't wait,' and with that thought in mind, a jolt of energy sent the redhead to her feet, dressing gown and slippers on she skipped downstairs to follow Evie and Grace already waiting at the bench, eager for acceptable morning sugar, in the form of pancakes and syrup.
