Well, it only took me three weeks, but I finally got it done. Thank you for all your kindness and support. I love the community on here. You are all amazing.

These Christmas chapters are dedicated to my lovely friend Miasdarling29 . I Hope you enjoy them and thank you for all your ideas and insights into a UK Christmas and your ideas of a perfect Christmas. Our conversations never fail to make me smile.

After a few more songs and Jingle Bells three times, as per the girl's request, Mia and Dan went and got changed into their set of matching pyjamas and then after I made our little tradition of Christmas special hot chocolates, I went and got my own set on.

Mia had done a great job picking them out. They were so comfortable, like, wear around the house on cozy, lazy days comfy. We all had the same green, red and white tartan long pants, but different style tops in the same green. My top was a satin camisole. It was lovely, soft and my favourite colour. I smiled at the thought of my fiancé so carefully considering each person she was buying for and finding the right top to match. I giggled a little, as the thought struck me, that my top was the easiest to take off.

The girls were busy picking a Christmas movie with mum and I was loading the dishwasher when Mia came in and cuddled me from behind. I loved how she wrapped herself around me and I could feel she just needed some closeness while I went about finishing tidying up.

I turned the dishwasher on and turned around, giving her a kiss, before leaning back and lifting her chin to look at me.

'Are you ok baby?' I asked gently.
'I was just thinking about him,' she smiled, sighed and I could see sadness in her body and on her face, 'He would have loved this'.

I pulled Mia into me for a hug. I made big circles on her back with my hands. Her breathing became relaxed and her shoulders softened.

'You know, I think our dads would have got on well, baby,' I say to her smiling.
Mia laughs a little, 'I think they would have too,' she breathes out and I can feel her tears fall on my shoulder. 'Oh, my baby. It's hard he's not here. He loves you Mia'.
'I miss him so much,' I run one hand through her hair, swaying to no music, just us.
'I know. I'm sorry you're hurting. I've got you. I miss him too. I'm so happy I got to meet him and get to know him and that you got to spend time with him again. He was a really wonderful man'.

'Thank you for always being my perfect person Char' Mia wiped her eyes and smiled.

'Girls, just give us five to ten minutes,' I heard Dan call out as he walked into the kitchen.
'Daaaaad!' The girls protested, but I heard mum suggest a quick game for them to play and they were happy again.

'Umm, I was just wondering if I could have a quick word with both of you?' Dan asked quietly. He was fidgeting with some papers in his hand.
'Sure.' Mia said and looked at me with a worried expression.
'Is everything ok Dan?' I asked concerned.
'Yeah. Yeah. I just wanted to give you something Char and I guess it's good for you too Mia.' We both looked at each other and then at Dan, confused.

'So, I know you're engaged now, and I'm happy for you Char, for both of you. It's just that legally we're still married and,' I felt Mia tense up. Previous experience told her that moments like this lead to a fight, but I know Dan and he's not like that. I squeezed her hand to get her to look at me and nodded towards the papers.

Dan turned over the papers in his hand, legal documents. 'I figured if you and Mia are going to get married, we should probably get a divorce first Char,' he smiled nervously.

'What?' Mia was letting the information sink in slowly.
'These are divorce papers for Char to sign and then it's all done and you can get married, whenever you would like,' Mia was unusually silent, but then walked over to Dan and captured him in a tight squeeze he was not expecting.
