A/N: So, between these last two chapter is 20k words. Thanks for sticking with me on this crazy ride. So much love to you all for your support. I'm having fun writing all these characters and their shenanigans.
I will have the family tree and Character catch up done over the weekend.
Mia opened her laptop on the table and double checked the flight and transfer bookings. Her chest felt lighter than it had the last few weeks and she was beginning to feel the nauseousness of earlier in the pregnancy subside as she sipped her tea.
Their home was quiet, except for the creaks and groans of the house being warmed by the morning sun. The smell of dew met her as she opened the door from the kitchen to their small back porch, laptop balanced on her bent arm and the cup of ginger and lemon tea in the other hand. She sat on the chair and looked at their little garden. Birds sang their waking songs, flowers had turned towards the sun, and dew clung tightly to petals before falling to the ground in search of thirsty roots. There was just enough room for the girls play equipment here and their therapeutic spa, Char still very much needed to soothe her sore legs after long day, a few pots of herbs and flowers and a two-meter square patch of grass just big enough for a picnic.
So, they had talked about finding somewhere with a bit more space, an office for Mia, more outdoor play space, the girls having their own room and open plan kitchen, dinning and living for all their friends and family to gather on big occasions. Grace had been wanting more of her own space and in their three-bedroom home there wasn't much room to change things around and to grow, as was inevitable.
Rarely finding a tab she didn't like to save or keep open, Mia had slowly been organising her favourites into folders. She knew where everything was on her laptop, even if it looked like chaos to everyone else. She opened the folder in her search engine marked 'Dream homes'.
Mia had taken in the girls and Chars requests when looking and she had a couple of great contenders she had spoken to agents about. Mia couldn't wait to show Char and the girls some options and get their thoughts. They had a few hours to finish packing and then Loukia's birthday dinner. Then their flights tomorrow to Florence for a family holiday. Mia sighed with the heaviness of the dates approaching and hopes that being out of the country wouldn't erase the memory, it never would but at least give them all a sense that life is different now.
Mia opened the first home they would be looking at and scrolled through the pictures. She picked this one because it had a mix of traditional and modern. She knew that Char preferred homes that weren't too modern. 'I don't want our home to feel like we live in a museum or where everything looks clinical and boxy,' Although with three kids running around Mia never thought a home looking clinical would ever be a problem. Evie tended to leave a trail of clothes and toys and art as she went about the day from one game or task to the next. 'And not too much white please Mia. Do you know what cleaning white is like with a toddler?' Char had pulled a face that let Mia know it was a horrific ordeal, and the redhead had chuckled before agreeing with an attempt at a serious face.
Neither home was plain white inside, and both had wood floors throughout, incredible kitchens, and ensuite for their main room and spacious gardens.
Just as she was imagining the girls and a new baby running through them, she felt arms snake around her waist and Charlotte's lips slowly kissed her cheeks. She felt the brunette lean into her back and warmth spread from her heart as she turned her head and smiled before meeting her fiancé's lips with her own.
'You got up early?' Mia nodded and turned to face her fiancé, their lips remaining close.
'Just going over our bookings for Florence and the two homes I am taking you all to this afternoon before Louki's party,' Charlotte folded her arms and tried to sneak a quick peak at Mia's laptop, but she shut it quickly. 'Hmmph,' the redhead giggled at Char's exaggerated grumble and kissed the end of her nose, 'You're cute when you're grumpy sweetheart,' and she stood up to make the brunette's coffee.
