How Everything Changed (Book 4)

Chapter 34

At the show, I was watching backstage as Matt and Jeff were out in the ring. They were talking about how Matt was gonna win the title and all that when Ethan came out. At first, it looked like Ethan wasn't going to give Matt another opportunity at the world title. And if it wasn't for Jeff threating to have one of his fans hand him a chair so he could whack him and Tyrus with it, he wouldn't have changed his mind. After some deliberation, he agreed, under the condition that if Matt lost, Jeff would be Ethan's personal assistant. Now, I knew Jeff was doing this, and I knew he was doing this to protect Morgan. Matt did tell me what went down yesterday, and I was shocked that Jeff would even call Morgan that, it didn't seem right.

I ran up to them as they came back, and I pulled them to the side. I really wasn't supposed to know that Jeff was even with Ethan, but I know, and Morgan knows.

"You guys aren't actually thinking about going through with this, are you?" I told Matt. Matt shook his head.

"I'm not going through with it if Jeff doesn't want to," Matt said. "Jeff's career isn't even worth that title."

I stared back at Jeff and he had a thoughtful look on his face. I walked up to him, and I grabbed his face. "You don't have to go through with this if you don't want to," I told him. "We'll find some other way to get Matt a shot. Hell, we'll go to Dixie even."

"But when is this ever gonna happen again, especially if Jarrett is going to be in charge? He's not a big fan of mine and you know that, and I'm sure he wont be a big fan of Matt's," he said.

"So you're okay with Matt doing this?"

"Yea," he said. He leaned in my ear. "Thanks for covering."

I nodded and headed back to the room. At the end of the show it was time to hear if Jeff Jarrett was going to have complete and total control of Impact Wrestling. He did and I rolled my eyes. That was just great.

Drew came out and accused Jarrett of being behind the attacks. Now, I know that Jarrett was capable of a lot of things, but this wasn't one of them. Attacking people wasn't really on his itinerary for us coming over here. Also, he wasn't capable of taking out people and running away. Just as Drew was gonna drop him, Karen came out and said that she was behind the attacks. Okay, now I really don't believe her. She was a toothpick that I almost snapped in half in 2011 when she was saying personal stuff about Jeff. She wasn't capable of doing anything of the sort. Jarrett then low blowed Drew and every single person from GFW (minus me--I wanted no part in this remember? I was just here for moral support) came out and attacked Drew. Dixie jumped out of the ring as Jarrett was screaming at her. I walked out to the curtain and I saw everyone walking back. Then I heard screaming that sounded like Morgan.

"The hell was that?!" I heard her scream. PJ tried to calm her down by touching her arm. She gave him a look like, "Do you really want to do that?"

"I had to do what I had to do," PJ said softly.

"What you had to do?!" she said putting her hand on her forehead and then pushed her hair back. "I'm done! As long as Jarrett is here and running the show...then I quit! I'm not staying if he's gonna have everyone Global Force attack TNA. I just wont do it!"

For the first time, I noticed that Velvet was there, and before she could say something, Jarrett cut her off.

"You go on and quit, Davis! We don't need a pill popping girl like you on my roster!" Jeff yelled in her face.

"Shut the hell up, Jarrett! Those are prescription pills that I take them and I happen to take them responsibly!" she said pointing her finger in his direction. He smacked her hand away and got up in her face.

"Now you listen here you little punk! If you point that finger in my face again, I will make sure to have you fired from TNA!" Jarrett growled in her face. Morgan just shrugged and popped him in the face. He got a busted nose for his trouble. Karen started yelling at her and calling her names and every GFW star, save for me and PJ, ganged up on her. Karen ordered us to get her and she and Velvet took off down the hall as the rest of GFW ran after her. I stared at Karen and got in her face.

"Same ole bitch I see. Well, I aint putting up with yall's shit again, not after last time. I quit GFW!" I said, slapping the shit out of her. I took off after Morgan, and on the way I ran right into Jeff. He took off with me and we saw Morgan and Velvet out there. Jeff shoved Morgan down and I gave him a shocked look as Velvet picked her up and drove off with her.

I turned to Jeff. "Okay, I know you love her, so why did you do that?"

"I was told to do it, by Ethan," Jeff said. "Just stay out of it. I'm doing this to protect Morgan from Ethan."

"She needs more protecting from GFW than from Ethan!" I yelled shoving him. "I don't even know who you are anymore. Since when is taking orders from EC3 the right thing to do?" When he didn't say anything, I just shook my head. "If you really love Morgan, then you would try your hardest to make things up to her. Whether or not you are with that jerk-ass EC3."
