Chapter 83 (PART 1)

I drove Morgan back to my place to get her mind off of Jeff. Reby kept her eyes on Morgan every few seconds before looking back at me.

"Why?" she asked with a shake of her head. "Why would he go behind Morgan's back like that and cheat on her?" I could practically hear the emotion in her voice.

"I don't know, Reby," I said with a soft sigh. "He said it was when he first got hurt and he was in a depressed state."

"That's still no excuse," she said, facing the window, crossing her arms.

"I know...I know. He said that Beth would come over when Morgan was gone," I said.

"I think he's lost his mind!" Reby snapped at me. I could tell she was getting frustrated at this whole thing. "When Morgan gets to our house, she's gonna do her thing and think about Jeff, then we're gonna have to identify Jeff's body because she's gonna flipping murder him!"

"Reby, babe, calm down," I said, gripping her hand tightly. "I know you're upset, trust me, I am too."

She sighed before turning back to Morgan as I drove. When we got back to the house, we carried Morgan upstairs, despite her protests. I took her upstairs while Reby carried Maxel to the other room to play with him. I plopped her down on the bed. "You need anything?"

When she shook her head, I nodded before heading to the door. "If you need anything, you let me or Reby know, okay?" A small smile cut across my lips as I said that.

"Okay," Morgan said with a small smile. Not sure if it was genuine or not, but damn did it feel good to see her smile again.

A little later, Reby left me with Maxel to go see who was at the door. I was in the middle of a rousing game of peek-a-boo when Avril, Alexis and Zack came in. They looked happy, which they wouldn't be when I told them what had happened. I sighed before motioning them to come upstairs with me.

We made our way upstairs to the guest room where music was playing. I knocked on the door. No answer. I opened the door and walked in. I caught Morgan swallowing down some Jack Daniels, and there was a bottle of Jack sitting next to her, bottle half-empty.

"Morgan!" I said, pulling the bottle away from her. "What the hell are you doing?"

Morgan didn't answer, just gave me a clearly drunk giggle. "Heyyyyyy, Mattie!"

"She's drunk," Alexis said, looking at Morgan worriedly.

"Morgan, what the hell are you doing?" I repeated.

"Oh, nothing important," Morgan said as she stood up giggling.

"Morgan," I said. "You don't need to do this. Jeff isn't worth that."

"Who?" Morgan asked with a confused expression, and as if a lightbulb went off over her head, she gasped. "Oh, yeah, that manwhore. Eh, I couldn't care less about him right now."

"Woah, hold up," Alexis said, holding up a hand. "Why did she just call Jeff a manwhore. Zack and Alexis shared a confused expression. I knew I couldn't hold this back anymore.

"Jeff cheated on Morgan months ago," I said softly. "She...went into labor this afternoon." All of them shared a shocked and pissed off look.

"Who went into labor?" Avril asked me and that's when I knew they would want Jeff's head on a platter.

"Beth..."

The room was silent for a few seconds before Zack spoke up. "Okay," he said, holding his hands up. "Lemme get this straight. Jeff knocked up some other girl while he was pregnant."
