*Matt*

I heard Morgan scream and glass shatter. What the hell? I twisted the doorknob, and not surprisingly, I found the door locked. "God dammit," I hissed, letting my thoughts wander for a second. What was I gonna do?

"Morgan!!!" I started banging on the door. "Morgan Lynn Hardy!!! Open this door right now!!!"

When I didn't hear a response, I went out into the hallway where I saw Velvet Sky walking down the hall. I grabbed her arm and yanked her into the room.

"Matt!" she squealed. "What the...?!"

"I need you to talk to Morgan," I whispered. "She went into the bathroom. I heard glass shattering and I need to see if shes okay."

"Oh, God," she whispered back, one hand over her mouth. She glanced back at the door for a few minutes before turning back to me. "I'll talk to her. Give us a minute?"

"Thanks," I said, kissing her cheek and walking away.

*Velvet*

After Matt left, I looked at the door again, my brain searching for an idea about how I should approach this. "Morgan, sweetie?" I said, tapping on the door. "It's Velvet. Open the door for a second?"

There was no response and that door handle wasn't about to stop me from getting to my best friend. In fact, it was hardly a challenge. I raised my foot and "booted" my way into the room. Once I got in there, the first thing I saw was the shattered mirror and a small puddle of blood. Oh, she didn't...

I slowly turned my head to see Morgan sitting up against the wall, smiling like she was in her own little world. I examined her to see if she had any cuts on her and sure enough, there were cuts on the back of her hands. Shit.

"Morgan!" I yelled, running over, careful not to step on any glass. I knelt down in front of her and took her hands in mine. "What the hell did you do?"

She stared up at me, a crazy glint in her eyes. "They done it."

"Who did what?" I said, getting up and grabbing a hand towel from the holster.

She was silent for a few minutes as I wrapped a hand towel around each of her hands. "They lied to me," she said giggling. "He lied to me. Jeff..." I stopped wiping blood from her hands and started at her as he continued. "He lied to protect that sweet little angel, Ryah." There was hint of sarcasm at the end of course.

"Oh, my god," I whispered softly. "Do I even want to know what the hell they lied about?"

"They lied about how Jeff broke his leg. It was as all because of a bet," she said. "50 dollars worth, and we all know the rest of the story."

"Fifty dollars for jumping 3 hills?" I asked. "I would've challenged more." She gave a questioning look. "What? 50 dollars for jumping those three hills? Sounds like something I'd pay about 100 for."

She then shook her head and started smiling again, looking down. I sighed quietly. "Mor, I'm not saying that what they did was right. It wasn't. Ryah put Jeff in danger, and Jeff put himself in danger. And they lied to you about it for 6 months. They let you think that Jeff broke his leg all on his own."

She tilted her head towards me, giggling. "Yeah. It seems that they like to lie to me. I guess I'm not good enough to know the truth," she said. "Or, maybe it's because he has more feelings for Ryah if he feels that he had to lie to me to protect her." Then, she giggled again before leaning her head back against the wall, tears running down her face while she grinned.

I rubbed her shoulder lightly for a few minutes, trying to figure out what I should do to help her. Honestly, if she was in the right state of mind, I would've gone to find Jeff, and kicked his ass. Believe me, I felt like recently that boy has gotten me so angry at him that I want to just kick him in the balls, repeatedly...maybe decapitate his balls. I don't know.
