*Matt*
I shook my head of some thoughts as I was clearing away some glass from the floor where Zack and Jeff were fighting. I cant believe Jeff had actually put his hands on Avril and Alexis like that. I'm sure that Morgan was gonna have a few things to say, or possibly do, to Jeff for that. I decided that I was gonna check on Morgan to make sure she was okay after all she went through tonight. I also cannot believe that Jeff had actually said that he regretted meeting Morgan. I'm sure that was the stress talking, but that was the LAST thing Morgan needed from him right now.
After a few rings, she picked up. "Hey, Matt." Her voice sounded tired, like I thought it would. "What's up?"
"I'm calling to check up on you and the girls," I asked her gently. "Are yall alright?"
"I'm fine," she responded tiredly. "I don't know about the girls." There was a small pause before she spoke again. "Hey, are you still at the arena?"
"Yea," I said, picking up the broom and started to sweep the last bit of glass that was on the floor. "Why?"
"Stay there," she said quickly. "I'm on my way back. I need you to go with me to talk with Dixie.
"Okay," I said cracking a smile. "Ill be in the hall cleaning up the mess from the fight."
"Kay," she said. "Ill be there in a few. Love you." *click*
I put my phone away and thought about why Morgan needed to talk to Dixie. A small, SMALL part of me thought that it had something to do with Jeff and what he did....might have done...might not have done...whatever you want to call it. I didn't know if she had enough care in the world for him at the moment to try and prove his innocence.
I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard her yelling my name and jogging over to me as I was cleaning up more glass. "Hey," I said putting down the broom and giving her a side hug. "So what do you plan on doing exactly?" I asked as we began walking.
"Is Jeff here?"
"No, he went back to the hotel," he said. This next thing was a little hard for me to say. "And, to be honest with you, he said that he regretted meeting you." The explosion that I thought Morgan would have never came. Instead, she just wore a smile on her face.
"I'm sure he did," she said. "A lot of people do. But you know, I cant make everyone happy." Yep, story of my life there.
"So," I said. "Why are you talking to Dixie then."
"To prove Jeff is innocent," she started off with a smile on her face, which faltered into a frown. "And then, Imma kick his charismatic ass for putting his hands on my daughters." Ahh, that's my sister! Always putting her family first before some guy....even if that guy is my brother....
"Oh," I said with a big cheesy Matt Hardy-like grin on my face. "Okay."
Suddenly we were standing in front of Dixie's doorway. Morgan knocked on the already open door. I saw that Ethan was still sitting on the couch. What, did Aunt D give you a time out or something Carter? Dixie looked up and waved us in with a warm apologetic smile.
"Yes Morgan," she said getting and stood in front of her desk. "How may I help you?"
"Well," she said as we sat down in the couch farthest away from Ethan. "I would like to apologize for everything that happened tonight and I will pay for the damages." She looked from Dixie to Ethan. "And I'm also here to prove Jeff's innocence." With a death glare from Morgan to boot, Dixie looked at Morgan.
"Alright, I'm listening, darlin'," Dixie said, looking at her watch. Now Dixie is the type of person that will listen to your problems but she's always on time for things. I'm guessing a meeting or something she had to get to. Hopefully this wouldn't take too long.
