Matt took off in Morgan's direction and I sat there with my hand on my cheek. I had never, in all my years of being a man, told a woman off like I did Morgan. I told her she was desperate for love that she went to the dark side (meaning GFW). Now, don't get me wrong, PJ Black is an awesome guy--met him through Matt when they stopped by one day during his NXT run--but I just wanted Morgan back. Although I don't think she'd want anything to do with me now.
And I thought I was getting close to getting her back...
My thoughts were snapped out when PJ grabbed me by the shirt and shook me good. "Now you listen here, ya little shit," he said in my face. "Morgan is way too good for you. So I don't ever wanna catch you saying things like that to her or any other woman. This is probably why your wife left you and took your daughter with her."
"Don't you even go there," I said pushing him back. "She left because I ended things with her, on the count she was too damn controlling. She took Ruby because she went to the cops and told them about my drug history, and she thought that I was still on them. So don't you start something you don't know nothing about. That has nothing to do with Morgan." I circled him before looking at him in the eye.
"I want to know, and I want to know now. What is your secret? What does every guy have that I don't?" I asked him.
"How about a brain?" he said crossing his arms. "Because around any woman, you don't seem to be able to use your brain." He walked off down the hall, leaving me there.
*PJ*
"Morgan, wait please!" I said running down the hall after her. She stopped at the end of the hall and I ran up to her, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Morgan, please, calm down and talk to me," I said calmly. She turned to face me and I could have sworn she was about to burst into tears. Morgan was a tough cookie, but even she was allowed to show emotion once in a while. Hugging her comfortingly, I felt her body shake as tears fell from her eyes. I held her at arms length and looked at her.
"Hey, don't cry," I told her softly, wiping the wet substances from her eyes. "You're too beautiful to cry."
"I'm sorry..." Morgan told me with a shaky voice. She wiped the remaining tears from her eyes and I wished I could've just taken her pain away. "It's just, what Jeff said, it really hurt me."
"To be honest, I think you're too good for him," I said as I put my hand comfortingly on her shoulder.
"You're not the first to tell me that," she said as we started walking back towards my car. "I think I know where I went wrong. Things were rushed. We got married in the first year of really knowing each other and dating each other. Plus, I didn't listen to people when they warned me about him. Hell, I should have seen this coming..." She covered her face with her face, running them through her hair. "Things just way too out of hand."
"Sounds pretty rough," PJ replied as he looked over at me.
"You have no idea," she said, putting her hands in her pockets. I decided to take a leap of faith and see about these other guys. I mean, she basically told me about her mistake of a marriage with Jeff Hardy, someone that she didn't need to think about.
"So, what about these other guys you've been with?" PJ said. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
"Oh, well, the few guys I dated either we stayed friends or we hated each other. Like Ethan, I hate him with everything in me. As for Spud, TJ and Davey, we're still good friends. Well, TJ had to earn his friendship with me back, anyway."
"That bad huh?" I asked quietly.
"Mhm, I can't keep a guy. They either cheat on me or leave me for someone better. Or, if I'm lucky, we just want to go our separate ways."
"Well," I said stopping her for a second. "I don't think it's necessarily you, you're just choosing the wrong guys. You need someone who actually wants to be with your for more reasons than just your looks and your ability to kick someone's ass," I said smirking at her. She just shook her head and smirked at me.
"Um hm, and I'm just going to go out on a limb here and guess that you're getting ready to give me a list of reasons how your the guy for me. Trust me PJ, I've heard it all before so save your breath," she said. I couldn't respond to that, I tried to but I couldn't. "Listen, PJ, if you really want to play Romeo and Juliet, then okay. We can play Romeo and Juliet except no one dies." (If you haven't read Romeo and Juliet, I just spoiled something for you. Although there are about a million deaths in that story....so, never mind!)
A smirk came across my face and I got a glimmer of hope in my eyes. Yes! This was my ticket in! "So, you want to be with me?"
"Does this answer your question?" she asked leaning in and kissing me on the kips. Oh baby this is what I wanted! I took no time in kissing her back and I carried her back to the car kissing her all the while.
