"Now I want you to play with the other kids and eat all the snacks and food they give you okay?" Harry whispered in Alison's ear as they drove to the Day Care.
Ali nodded her head feebly. "I promise Harry."
He nodded. "Good. Now, I'll be right outside to pick you up in just a few hours okay?"
She nodded again and hugged Harry as tightly as she could. "I'm gonna miss you Harry." She whispered.
He hugged back tightly and kissed the top of your head. "I'm gonna miss you too."
He looked out the window and felt a pit in his stomach when he saw the Day Care Center come into view.
He absolutely hated leaving Alison even if he knew the people there would be kind to her and make sure no one would bully or hurt her.
But what if... no, no she would be just fine. He told himself. He grabbed Ali's hand and gave it a small squeeze when they pulled into the parking lot.
Ali looked at her brother with fear in her eyes. He gave her a small, reassuring smile to tell her that everything was okay then pulled her into another tight hug.
She hugged him back as tight as possible then whimpered quietly and bit her lip when Petunia opened the door and pulled the young girl out.
She groaned as Ali dung her heels into the ground so she gripped her arm tighter making the child cry out in pain.
"Stop resisting you little brat." She growled then put on one of her big, fake smiles as she walked in.
After she had gotten Ali signed in she walked back out and climbed into the passengers seat of the car, Ali ran to the window and waved a little at Harry who gave her a small smile and waved back.
A small, single tear slipped down her cheek and she quickly wiped it away when a young woman walked over to her and bent down.
"Hi sweetie. I'm Amanda and I'm in charge of the five to nine group. What's your name?" She asked sweetly with a big smile on her face.
"A-Alison." The girl answered quietly, feeling very shy.
"Aw what a pretty name."
She took her hand and lead her down the hall to a room full of young children playing with toys and each other.
"Now, why don't you go play with the other children and if you need anything just tell me alright?"
Ali just nodded and bit her lip as she looked around. She desperately wished Harry were here to play with her. She didn't like the idea of being put into a room filled with complete strangers.
She quietly walked over to a corner and sat down on a beanbag reading one of the children's books that was on one of the shelves.
She had read all of the books twice when Amanda crouched down in front of her. "Your family's here to pick you up sweetheart."
Ali smiled and stood up. She could final see Harry again. She took the woman's hand and walked with her to the lobby where Petunia stood with one of her big and fake smiles.
"There she is the little cutie!" Petunia cried out and knelt down holding out her arms.
Ali tried to dodge her aunt but Petunia had grabbed her and hugged her so tight she couldn't breathe.
When she was finally released she stepped back a few feet out of Petunia's reach. She had never put on a show this dramatic before and Ali knew what that meant.
Whenever her aunt and uncle put on shows like that in public, it meant that they were holding back their anger for later when they were at home with no one around.
